A flurry of emotions flashed across his face before he forced himself to smile. "Zane, I didn't know you had such a strong bond with this friend of yours! You should have said something sooner instead of giving me an attitude.

"Since he's a friend of yours, then he's also a friend of mine, Pax, and Tony. Come on, let's all drink together and leave all of this in the past."

Glen then patted Jack's shoulder and said, "Don't take this to heart, buddy. Come on, let's drink together."

Jack looked at Glen with disdain. If it wasn't for Charlotte's sake, he would have slapped Glen hard across the face.

Since things had unfolded the way it did, he couldn't find any reason to continue staying at the party. It would only make things difficult for himself if he continued to linger around if only for Zane and Charlotte's sake since Glen didn't welcome his presence.
