Cynthia and Magdalene had been standing next to Jack. They had also been affected by the grandiose display that Hugo was putting on and had been thoroughly moved.

Magdalene couldn't help herself and addressed Jack, "Look how much effort he's putting in to pursue Bella. Not only does he have riches and connections, but he's also handsome and tall. He's got a good family background and is an excellent student at Lightfield University. Do you really think that you still have a chance with Bella?"

Jack didn't respond, but only because he had disappeared from their sights. Magdalene searched for him curiously before finally spotting him. He was busy putting together a bouquet of morning glories.

Surprised, Magdalene asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm going to confess to Bella too later," Jack answered.

She looked at him with a dumbfounded expression. "You… You want to confess to Bella with those morning glories? Are you being serious?"

Meanwhile, Cynthia's jaw had gone slack, and she was convinced that her ears were playing tricks on her.

Jack looked utterly serious when he nodded. "I'll never know if I don't try. Who knows, I might even succeed!"

Magdalene thought that Jack was behaving rather shamefully while Cynthia thought that he was being quite funny.

With a smile, Cynthia said to him, "Alright. That's enough joking around. Just look at the confession that Hugo has prepared. Isn't it so romantic? Don't you feel pressured, needing to compete with that with your own confession?"

He nodded, but deep down in his heart, he was still unwilling to give up.

Magdalene questioned him in a haughty voice, "Do you think you have a chance?"
