Chapter 802 Why Is He Everywhere?
Hayley’s POV:
“Truman’s the Alpha of the Grimmoon Pack, and he actually showed up!”
“I can’t believe the Sanders are connected to him. I never would’ve guessed!”
The guests broke into excited murmurs, their attention clearly fixated on Truman rather than me, the supposed star of the evening.
Annoyed, I followed their gazes and looked over.
Clad in a black suit and white gloves, Truman walked straight toward me down the red carpet, flanked by his assistants, Melody and Nelson.
I frowned in frustration. Why was he everywhere?
“Ms. Sander, it’s been a while. I hope I haven’t disrupted your pleasant mood,” Truman said, brushing past Alan to stop in front of me.
“You’ve definitely stolen the spotlight,” I said with a glance of impatience.
Truman looked around at the crowd and smiled calmly. “Believe me, Ms. Sander, with your charm, no one could ever outshine you.”
“Thanks for the flattery, but I’m not in the mood to argue with you today. If you don’t have anything important to say, please stay as far away from me as possible, okay?”
Little did I know that my irritation and our bickering looked like flirting in the eyes of the guests.
Assuming I was an Omega with weak hearing, they started whispering shamelessly.
“From the look of it, there’s definitely something going on between Truman and Michelle!”
“Far as I know, Truman’s never been this close to any woman before.”
“Michelle may be pretty, but she’s just an Omega. Would Truman really be into her?”
“That’s hard to gauge. Even if she’s a low–rank werewolf, the Sanders have power and status…
I was this close to letting Hera take over and shut them all up.
That was when Alan cut in, saying to Truman, “My apologies, Mr. White. My younger daughter tends to be a bit blunt. Please don’t take it to heart. How about you enjoy a glass of wine over there? I’ll personally go over later to apologize.”
“No rush,” Truman replied smoothly as he took off his gloves. “I haven’t delivered my gift yet.”
He gestured with one finger, and Nelson handed over a kraft envelope.
Truman handed it straight to Alan. “Mr. Sander, this is a gift from me.”
“A gift?” Alan and I exchanged a look. That brown kraft envelope didn’t look like a present at all.
“Thanks.” Alan took the folder and opened it.
