I dart my eyes around, trying to think of a way out of this. "What do you want from me?" I ask,

backing away from Gregor. "Well, let's see your pretty boy killed my Luna, and I thought it

might be fair to do the same for him, but I could use a new Luna so I might just make that you,"

He declares and my eyes grow wider. "What?!" I say, darting to run past him, but he catches me with

one arm. "Not so fast," He growls, pulling me back.

"I have a baby, and I need to go home. You don't want me as Luna. I'm a loudmouth, and I get annoying", I tell him. "Oh, but I love those kinds," He replies, smirking. I take a deep shaky breath as I think of ways I can talk myself out of this. "What is this really about? you don't want me as a Luna", I say to Gregor. "It's not even about Evadean. I could care less. She wasn't even my mate, but it's about my son", Gregor explains, looking me over.

"But, I am your son's mate, so if you truly care about him, you wouldn't do anything to mess that up because I guarantee if you harm me or kidnap me, he will kill you with no remorse," I tell him hoping that works. "HAHA!" Gregor laughs in my face. "You think I care about him. That is cute. I was talking about Alaric," His says as his eyes bore a hole through me. "Alaric was crazy, he tried to kill me, and Malachi did what he had to," I say, hoping someone would come looking for me. "I see what Alaric saw in you, your special, and would make a proper Luna. The way you tackled me into the hall shows how ruthless you are, and I need a good woman by my side", Gregor declares, stepping closer to me.

I back away from him slowly. "No, I won't go with you. You'll have to kill me," I declare, trying to

make another run for the house. I finally get past him and look behind me to find Gregor is right at my

heels "HELP!" I scream, running faster. I almost make it to the edge of our property when he

tackles me and picks me up. He covers my mouth, so I can't scream. 'Shift Chloe, you can mind

link with Malachi,' My wolf tells me. I headbutt Gregor in the face, and he drops me.

I stand quickly and run away from him, shifting into my wolf. I turn to face him and let out a

deep growl, but Gregor rushes towards me, shifting mid-air and leaping onto me. We tumble

around on the ground, but as an Alpha he is much stronger than me. I'm struggling, but I won't give up. I

snap my teeth at his face, but miss and he slaps my wolf across the face with his claws, knocking me

to the ground. He uses this moment to his advantage by pouncing on top of me, snarling inches away from my face and baring his teeth.

I close my eyes and think of Paisley and Malachi one last time, but then I feel something swish by me. I open my eyes to see Gregor is gone, so I stand quickly to see Malachi and Gregor fighting. “Chloe, go to the house,” Malachi orders me through our link. “No, I won't leave you,” I reply as Gregor pins Malachi. I rush for them, slamming into Gregor and knocking him over. Malachi gets up quickly, pouncing onto Gregor and stands over him. He snaps his jaw shut around Gregor's neck, and I can see the life leave his wolf.

Malachi backs away from Gregor's dead wolf and turns to look at me. He walks to me, nudging

into me and cuddling under my neck. “Are you okay, Luna?” He asks. “I'm fine. Are you okay about

Gregor?” I nudge him back. He backs away, shifting back to his human form as do I. We stare at

each other as I walk to him, looking deep into his eyes. "You just killed your real father, are you

okay?" I ask, caressing his cheek. "I never knew him as my father. I have always been alone

with Cypress, so this man means nothing to me, especially if he was after you", Malachi

declares, pulling me into him.

Malachi sits on the ground, and I straddle him, brushing my hand through his hair. "I love you,

wolfman," I smile, pulling him to my lips. He deepens the kiss only pulling away to bring his lips to

my collarbone, trailing them down to my nipple. He takes it into his mouth, caressing my other

breast with his hand, making me whimper at his touch. "Oh Malachi, I want you now," I whisper.

Malachi lifts me and lays me softly down on the ground as he crawls on top of me, pressing his

hard body against mine. He pauses to brush a strand of hair from my face. "Chloe, I will always protect

you, even if you are a wolf now. I am your Alpha, and no one will come between us. I would

sacrifice my mother a million times to have you here with me," He says, rubbing my lower lip

with his thumb.

His eyes fill with lust, and my body craves him, so I pull him back to me. We make love under the stars when we finish, we lay there looking up at the sky as he holds me in his strong arms. "Have you written your vows for the wedding?" I ask Malachi. He turns to face me. "Yeah, I have," He says, pressing a kiss to my forehead. I give him a cheesy smile. "Aww, the big bad wolf has a soft spot," I tease with a laugh as he caresses my cheek. "I always will for you," He professes. I smile, pecking his cheek softly.

After we lay there for a bit longer, we stand heading back to the house. The day's events start

to come back to me, and the thought of my mother crosses my mind. 'I still have Cypress if I can

ever find him. My mother never loved me, but what about Marley? She is the daughter of Benjamin.

I need to talk with Sukie to break the spell for dad or Marley's dad,' I think to myself.

I stand there for a moment, bewildered. 'I feel like no one wants to talk with me, Amelia has been

distant lately. I hope her and Paul aren't fighting.' I think as I’m brought out of my thoughts by a hand

touching my shoulder. "AAHH," I scream, turning around to find Malachi. "You scared me,

wolfman! I thought you were going to bed?" I ask, looking confused. "Sorry, I couldn't sleep.

Have you seen Paul? I feel like things were off with him today." Malachi asks with worry.

"Yeah, he was downstairs in the kitchen, but he left, and I thought he went to bed," I tell

Malachi. "Paul has been acting weird, and I'm not sure what is going on, so I thought I would

take him for beers to have guy time," Malachi suggests. "I think that is a good idea. He looked

very stressed earlier," I declare. Malachi kisses my forehead. "I love you. I'll see you later," He

says, grinning and walks down the hall disappearing down the stairs.

I walk down to the living room and sit down on the sofa in front of the fireplace. My phone pings, so I flip it over to see who it is. 'Unknown’ I roll my eyes wondering why it could never be someone I actually know:

Unknown: "It's me, Cypress, can you meet me in the woods tomorrow night?"

Chloe: "Where have you been?"

Cypress: "It's a lot to explain in a text. Please come to meet me?"

Chloe: "Okay, I will be there."

Cypress: "Thank you."

That is the last text he sends.

I set the phone down on the coffee table when there is a knock on the door. I get up, opening it to see Cordelia standing there holding my baby girl. "Hey, baby!" I say, beaming with excitement. Paisley lets out a giggle as I grab her from Cordelia's arms. "Thank you for watching her. It was a crazy night" I tell her. "I love watching the babies, and don't ever hesitate to call me," She says, kissing Paisley's cheek softly then pressing one on my cheek. "Goodnight, sweetie. Tell Amelia I love her, and I'll see her and Asher tomorrow." Cordelia smiles and waved bye as she walks down the steps getting in her car and driving away.

I hug Paisley tight. "Mommy missed you so much," I tell her, snuggling her. I turn around to go back into the house when I hear a noise behind me. I turn abruptly, and find a man towering over me. I don't have time to react when a needle is stabbed into the side of my neck. The man grabs Paisley, and everything spins before all goes black.
