She had agreed to let Helena marry into the Vargan family only after investigating her background, confirming that Edward doted on her greatly and that she was wealthy, before approving of her.

She needed a useful daughter–in–law.

“There will be plenty of opportunities to meet later. Let’s eat first.” Victoria smiled without warmth, clearly not wanting to discuss me.

Helena had been testing Victoria’s attitude toward Ferris and Aurora. Now it seemed that once she married into the Vargan family, she could definitely control the family’s economic power.

After dinner, Helena went for a walk with Dennis.

Victoria had her stay here, and she didn’t refuse.

She also wanted to know what kind of person Ferris had married.

“Dennis, I really feel sorry for Ferris. Someone like Aurora simply doesn’t deserve him.”
