Chapter 313
Helena stood up to follow, but Dennis stopped her: “Helena, wait here for me to come back.”
His voice was gentle. With Victoria present, Helena couldn’t refuse without seeming rude.
But resentment churned inside her. She was about to become his fiancée, yet she wasn’t the one receiving his care.
After Dennis left, she dug her nails deep into her palms.
Outside, the wind and snow were indeed fierce in the pitch–black night.
I thought Dennis would only walk me to the door, so I didn’t refuse. I clutched ferris’s coat as we moved forward, but my vision grew increasingly blurry for some reason. Even the path became hard to see.
Knowing Dennis was following behind us, Ferris grabbed my hand. His touch was warm.
I snapped awake and tried to pull away, but Ferris tightened his grip. He called back to Dennis:
“This is far enough. Instead of putting effort into this kind of thing, you’d better focus on managing the wolf pack.”
Dennis’s steps faltered. He immediately caught the underlying meaning.
Ferris had discovered he’d drugged me.
No wonder there’d been no reaction until now. Unwilling to back down, Dennis shot back sarcastically: “You’re wrong about that. What’s wrong with putting effort into something that rightfully belongs to me?”
Tension crackled between the two men.
Still not fully conscious, I didn’t notice.
I was utterly exhausted. My eyelids felt heavy as lead, and I couldn’t hold myself up anymore. I leaned against Ferris.
Ferris swept me into his arms. I rested against his broad back and fell asleep despite myself. In my dreams, my whole body felt like it was burning–the discomfort was unbearable.
Seeing I was asleep, Dennis stopped playing games with Ferris: “You should return Aurora to me now.”
“She doesn’t love you at all.”
Ferris couldn’t help but smile: “What does it matter if she doesn’t love me? I’m her mate. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for impersonating me back then.”
Before leaving, he warned Dennis: “Use these underhanded tactics again, and don’t blame me for not playing nice.”
Dennis watched him carry me away, his gentle expression vanishing completely.
Just as he was about to head back, he spotted Helena standing not far behind m.
Dennis’s expression shifted instantly: “Helena, were you here the whole time
Helena looked puzzled: “No, I just arrived. Is something wrong?”
Dennis didn’t press further, saying coldly: “It’s nothing. I’ll walk you back.”
But Helena suddenly wrapped her arms around him from the front.
“Dennis, we’re getting engaged soon. Let me sleep with you tonight.”

Chapter 313
Dennis gently pulled her hands away. “Helena, I want to save the best for our wedding day.
Helena hadn’t expected to encounter such a conservative man in this world. Her hands fell stiffly to her sides, though her heart soared: “Alright.”
Meanwhile, my whole body felt feverish
I was always cold, so what was happening tonight?
“So hot.”
I clutched Ferris’s clothes, murmuring.
Ferris had already gotten me into the car and was driving toward the hospital
He teased deliberately: “Do you have a fever?”
