Chapter 788: Her memories will reset.

The men got stationed outside. They were standing for a while when he heard a car pulling up at a distance. They all at once became alert. Turning to look, they waited until they saw a pair of stylish heels stepping out of the car, and then the woman emerged from it in all her full height.

As she walked in their direction, one of them came to block their path.

"Where are you going, woman? You can’t casually walk in."

"I can and I will," the woman said, and then, simply pushing past him, she walked in as if she owned it.

The men exchanged glances before following her inside.

Catrin was standing close to Arwen’s bed. When she heard the sharp sound of heels clicking against the floor, she turned to look with a frown.

"I hope I haven’t appeared too late," the woman said, entering, and looking at her, Catrin’s frown only deepened as though she didn’t quite like her presence there.

"I told you, you didn’t have to come here," she said, walking in her direction with clear displeasure on her face. "I didn’t need you here."

Selene paused in her steps and took off her glasses before replying with an arrogant smirk. "But I needed to be here to witness it all with my own eyes. After all, we are together in this. How could I just leave you here alone to manage everything?"

Catrin stared at her with quiet scrutiny before she gestured to the men who followed her out. She didn’t know much about Selene, except that she had reached out right when she needed her —needed the way to get Arwen back to her. "How do you know Arwen? And what’s your benefit in all this?"

Selene’s brows quirked a little as though she was amused that the woman finally asked her this. Otherwise, since the day she called to offer her help, she never cared about anything else other than having her daughter back.

"My benefit?" Selene repeated with a casual shrug. "Is that even important when you are so close to having yours?" Her gaze darted to look at the bed. "Your daughter is already here, and soon you will have her back just the way you had wanted to have her. Under your control. You can reshape her just the way you like. Isn’t that great and already enough?"

"Just answer what I asked you," Catrin’s brows furrowed as suddenly she felt like she might have stepped into something she should have considered. "What is your deal in this? What do you want?"

"I just want what you have been wanting, Ms. Davies." Selene’s words came almost immediately, without any gap of even a second. "I want her to return to your side. And trust me, I couldn’t ask for anything more."

She didn’t lie. That’s all that Selene wanted. Arwen to move out of her way on her own —in a way she doesn’t have to carry the blame. As long as it won’t be because of her, Aiden wouldn’t hate her. And with Arwen gone, she would finally be able to have him all for herself.

Catrin wasn’t satisfied with her answer. But before she could speak, someone else took her attention. She turned to look only to see a man entering in a white doctor’s robe.

"Doctor, you are here. Did you bring what I asked you?"

Selene turned to look at him, only to offer him a mere glance. The doctor also turned to look at her, but except for giving a small nod of greeting, he didn’t say anything more.

Instead, he turned to Catrin and replied, "Yes, I got the drug. It was difficult but available on the black market."

"That’s great. Then let’s not delay it further. Arwen is right here," Catrin said, slightly turning towards the bed where Arwen was still lying unconscious. "You can start the procedure."

The doctor glanced the way and his brows slightly tugged together in hesitation. He didn’t move immediately; instead, looking back at Catrin, he said, "Before I start the procedure, there is something that I want to discuss with you."

Catrin didn’t want to waste another moment. But when she saw the doctor’s expression, she nodded and walked down towards him. "What is it?" she asked.

The doctor paused for a moment before he finally said, "I would ask you to reconsider this decision again. This procedure isn’t very suitable for Ms. Arwen. It might affect her in a way that cannot be undone."
