Cynthia pressed the elevator's close button with a blank, unreadable expression.

This time, Benedict didn’t follow her.

As she reached her own floor, Cynthia rubbed her temples, pushing down the wave of nausea and irritation clawing at her.

“We’ll talk inside.”

What they were about to discuss was something Benedict couldn’t catch wind of—not even a hint.

Benedict, after all, had access to every camera in the building.

Frank picked up on her meaning instantly and followed her into the office.

Once inside, he swept the room, checking for any bugs or hidden devices.

“I checked again last night. Nothing,” Cynthia said quietly. The access code to this office was something only she knew. She’d originally planned to give this office to Benedict as a wedding gift—but he was never worthy of a space this nice.

Relieved, Frank moved to her desk, lowering his voice to report, “I’ve heard Mr. Shepard invited the potential buyer for VistaSphere Group’s shares to tour the company today. They’re supposed to join the morning meeting to get a sense of how things run here.”
