If the mysterious pregnancy and DNA test reports still left him with some doubts, hearing Justin's words in person—that Steve was indeed his son—completely erased any lingering suspicion. What replaced it was an overwhelming pain.

Theodore had once wondered what it would be like if Steve were his son. He had even wondered if Steve could possibly be his son.

However, thinking back to everything that had happened between him and Rosalie, he became afraid. He was afraid that if he thought too much about it, he might just be deluding himself. What would he do then?

After all, when they met in Melrine, he had seen Rosalie, Sebastian, and Steve eating together at a restaurant. Theodore had watched as Sebastian and Steve interacted like father and son. His first instinct was that Rosalie and Sebastian had a child together.

And Rosalie hadn't denied it. She had implicitly accepted it, which led Theodore to believe that Steve was indeed Sebastian's son.

Theodore thought about his interactions with Steve, and how the boy had innocently called him "Dad." Maybe Steve was just too young to understand, and said it without much thought. But now, looking back at those words, it seemed prophetic. He truly was Steve's father.

Theodore's body felt as heavy as a stone. His face was pale, his lips were cracked, and beads of cold sweat dripped from his forehead. Each breath brought a sharp pain, as though countless needles were stabbing into his chest.

"Why? Rose, why didn't you tell me from the beginning?"

"Why didn't she tell you?" Justin retorted. "Don't you know why? I heard you were divorcing her for another woman. You were about to divorce her, and she was supposed to tell you she was pregnant?"

"She should have told me!" Theodore raised his head and shouted uncontrollably. "If she had told me, I would never have divorced her!"

Thinking of the last words Rosalie had said to him, his heart felt like it was being sliced apart. Rosalie had trampled on his dignity and humiliated him!

She was so heartless! It hurt so much!

Justin watched Theodore's madness, his brow furrowing slightly. His usually cold eyes now revealed a hint of helplessness.

He pressed his lips together, saying nothing. Despite being rivals in love, Theodore's pain was so real and deep that Justin couldn't help but feel some sympathy for him.
