I should be the one apologizing to you.” Tears slid down her face.

“I’ll kill myself if you don’t leave! Do you hear me?” Helen glowered at him.

Chris was shocked by her gaze. He knew that his mother had the guts to do just anything.

“Are you leaving or not?”

“Okay. I promise you I will.” Chris nodded eventually. “But can you tell me why?”
