With Wanda and Fawn applying pressure from opposite ends, Vespera's mood was already very sour.

"What did you just say?" Dominic questioned, leaning in. His voice was laced with trouble.

"The president really shouldn't be harassing employees on their lunch break," said Vespera, pulling her leg from his grasp.

Dominic had one hand on the back of the couch, leaning in close until his face was just inches from hers. He asked, "Ms. Gildon, did you skip lunch and gorge yourself on jealousy instead?"

His breath warm against her skin, Vespera turned her head and accidentally brushed her lips against his.

It was barely anything, but for Dominic, it was like tossing a treat to a waiting cat. He chased her lips immediately and said, "I didn't have much of an appetite during lunch, but I'm hungry now."

Dominic replied, "Is that so? Must be something wrong with me. I should probably double-check."

Then, he leaned in again. This time, Vespera bit him without hesitation. Served him right for trying his luck twice in a row.

A bite mark appeared on Dominic's lips. He let go of Vespera, rubbing her lips, and said, "You really don't hold back, do you?"

Vespera jabbed a finger against his chest and said, "If you don't back off, the next bite is going here."

Dominic caught her hand and asked, "Where's the third one going?"

He wasn't begging her to get back together anymore, but he had found a new obsession, like accusing her of being pregnant with someone else's child. It was as if his fragile ego hadn't suffered enough.

Then, a low voice broke into Vespera's thoughts. Dominic asked, "Who are you thinking about?"

Vespera was startled. She answered, "I'm just thinking about your suggestion."

Dominic didn't press further. He asked, "So, have you decided? Because once you do, there's something else I would like you to consider."
