"Ms. Natasha, welcome," greeted an employee enthusiastically.

Another employee had already opened the VIP room, while someone hurried off to prepare drinks and fruits for their elite customers.

Although only Natasha had ordered a set of jewelry, the employees believed that the wealthy woman next to Natasha was her mother. And everyone knew just how wealthy the Reid family was.

As the three walked into the store, Vespera and Rebecca continued browsing the bracelet options, ignoring the commotion behind them.

Vespera, dressed in black formal attire, had let her hair down earlier because of the barbecue smell. She had sprayed on a bit of perfume to cover it. From behind, her silhouette stood out, and her fair skin was as eye-catching as ever.

Fawn glanced at Vespera's and Rebecca's way. Following Fawn's faze, Natasha also looked and whispered, "Mom, I'm telling you, there are tons of women with pale skin and narrow waists. That description is way too vague."

Fawn tapped Natasha's arm lightly and said, "Lower your voice. Talking behind people's backs is rude."

Nevertheless, Fawn didn't look away. She wanted to see what Vespera looked like. Sensing someone's stare, Vespera instinctively turned her head.

"Mrs. Reid, this way," said a male employee, stepping in front of Fawn and blocking her line of sight.

Fawn replied, "Alright."

Fawn withdrew her gaze and stepped into the VIP room. From her angle, Vespera could see Fawn's side profile. Vespera found her familiar. Then, she remembered and mumbled, "It's her."

Still browsing through the collection, Rebecca looked up when she heard Vespera. She asked, "Who is it?"

Vespera lowered her voice and answered, "Remember that night when Mrs. Dawson wanted to target a woman and we ended up jumping out the window with that woman?"

Rebecca figured out who it was instantly. "Her?"

Rebecca glanced around the store and asked, "Where did she go?"

"She already went into the VIP room," responded Vespera.

"The people that night truly are rich. Vera, didn't you basically save her life? Should we greet her? It never hurts to network a little."

Vespera's chest tightened for a moment. Without warning, her thoughts jumped to something else. Wasn't Dominic's mother trying to find someone?

"Vera, what are you thinking about?" Rebecca asked, waving a hand in front of Vespera's face.

Snapping out of it, Vespera replied, "It's nothing. Let's go and check out another store."

Now that she had a moment to think, she realized how ridiculous she was being. One glance at a similar figure and she was jumping to conclusions? She couldn't disturb someone just because of that.

By now, Vespera had already dragged Rebecca into the elevator.

Rebecca asked, "What's wrong, Vera? You've been acting strange."

"I just ate too much. I feel bloated. Let's pick your mom's gift another day," answered Vespera.

At the car, Rebecca turned Vespera around. Rebecca knew Vespera best. She asked, "Tell me, what's wrong? Was there something wrong with the woman from earlier? Do you know her?"

Before Vespera could answer, Rebecca added, "Wait, you do know her. You just said that she's the woman you saved that night, right?"

Vespera pressed her lips together, not sure how to explain. She pulled Rebecca into the car and locked the doors. After pondering for a moment, she said, "Dominic's mom was there that night too. She was also in danger, and someone rescued her. Now, she's searching everywhere for the woman who saved her."

Rebecca's jaw dropped. "Wait, are you saying that…"

Vespera shook her head and said, "I don't know. I'm just wondering what the odds are. Both women went through the same things on the same night."

Rebecca said, "Why not just ask Dominic? Or you can go to the Reid residence directly.
