Quinn gave Tyrone's arm a twist, her voice thick with sleepiness, "Move over, I'm dead tired and need to sleep. We can play your little games later, but please, let's stick to daylight hours."
Tyrone flashed a mischievous grin, "But night-time has such a vibe, don't you think? Some things just aren't meant for the light of day."
Quinn rolled her eyes. What was he on about now? Always so keen to show off, as if they all didn't already know his tricks.
She pushed him away firmly, "Sleep on your own side. I don't want to be squished."
Laying down, she pulled the covers up, turned her back, and shut everyone and everything out.
Tyrone, on the other hand, was buzzing with energy, far from feeling sleepy. He felt like he could go days without rest, as if he'd been shot with adrenaline.
He moved over to Alexander, nudging him, "Bathroom break?"
Alexander grumbled, "Nope."
"How can you not? You'll regret it after a whole night. Come on..." Tyrone half-dragged Alexander out despite his protests.
Once in the hallway, Alexander shook off Tyrone's grip, "I'm not going to the bathroom. If you gotta go, go by yourself."
Tyrone shrugged, leaning against the wall with a casual air, all smugness, "I didn't really want to go."
As if he was one of those schoolgirls who can't go to the bathroom alone.
Alexander let out a frustrated breath, "Are you nuts? Dragging me out here if you didn't even need to go?"
Tyrone patted his pockets, looking for a cigarette but found none. "Just wanted to chat about life."
"I'm done talking. If you won't let me sleep inside, then I'll just sleep here." Alexander sat down on a hallway bench, settling in for an uncomfortable night.
Tyrone, clicking his heels together, came over proudly, "Hey, you didn’t even ask what we were up to."
Alexander, eyes closed, responded dryly, "Thanks, but I'd rather not know." It couldn't be anything good.
Tyrone pulled a long face, "We were sneaking around, and look at you, crashing here. If you weren't here, would we even need to sneak out? See how much trouble you've caused."
Alexander, without opening his eyes, felt his chest tighten with anger.
He opened his eyes, teeth clenched, "Tyrone, I never realized before how utterly annoying you are. Do you enjoy this? Getting a kick out of provoking me?"
Tyrone nodded, almost proudly, "Of course, it's fun. I've been told I was born with a heart of stone. Did you really think you needed to tell me that?"
