Grandpa Woods noticed how worried Fiona looked, and he finally decided to tell her everything. “I sent Jackson to the capital,” he said, “because the Woods family has a secret basement there. Fiona paused, trying to work it out. “So Jackson already knows what really happened to his parents?”

Now that he could finally clear his parents’ names, of course he was in a hurry. Fiona understood, and she couldn’t blame him. She actually supported his decision.

“So, is that what you wanted to talk to me about today? Jackson’s parents?” Fiona asked.

But Grandpa Woods shook his head. “When Jackson comes back, let him tell you himself. I called you here today to thank you properly—for helping us get rid of the traitors in the Woods family.”

Fiona understood instantly. He was talking about everyone who’d been exposed in the scandal. Grandpa Woods hadn’t wasted a second getting rid of them, and with the Woods family working behind the scenes, none of those people would ever get out of prison.

“You really know how to pick your moments, Grandpa Woods,” Fiona said with a smirk. “I’m guessing the whole Woods estate is surrounded by shareholders right now, and the second I leave, they’ll all want to know what we talked about for so long.”
