The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of her suite. Keira sat at the vanity, watching in the mirror as Elena deftly wove white flowers into her upswept hair.

“Are you nervous?” Elena asked, securing another bloom with a pearl–tipped pin.

Keira’s eyes met her reflection. “Oddly enough, no. After everything we’ve been through, walking down the aisle is the easy part.”

She smoothed her hand over the delicate lace of her robe, thinking of the wedding gown hanging nearby. It had been a joint creation… Blair’s top design team working with Wystovian royal dressmakers to create something that honored both traditions. Like everything in her life now, a perfect blend of who she was and who she was becoming. It amazed her every day the person she was now. How she and Alexei had grown together.

“Hard to believe it’s been four months since Olivia was born,” Keira mused. “I’m so glad we waited for Blair to recover before having the wedding.”

Elena smiled, adding another flower to the intricate arrangement. “Princess Amelia asked me to tell you she’ll be here soon. She wanted to feed Prince Nicholas first.”

Keira’s face softened at the mention of Amelia and Niko’s son. “How is she doing today?” The baby hadn’t been sleeping and Amelia wanted to handle it herself.

“Radiant,” Elena replied. “Tired, of course, but so happy.”

A knock at the door interrupted them. Before Elena could answer, it burst open, and Blair swept in, looking elegant in her silver bridesmaid’s dress, Olivia nestled against her shoulder.

Blair grinned. “Keira Warner, I can’t believe my baby sister is getting married in less than two

hours!”

“I know, I know,” Keira laughed, rising to greet her sister. “Let me see my gorgeous niece.”

Blair carefully transferred Olivia to Keira’s waiting arms. At four–month–old, the baby had grown remarkably, her dark hair thickening, and her eyes unmistakably Roman’s. She was already tracking movement with growing awareness.

“Where’s Sutton?” Keira asked, gently bouncing Olivia.

“Wrangling Miles,” Blair replied. “He’s discovered the palace gardens and thinks the fountain is his personal swimming pool.”

Another knock announced Sutton’s arrival, Miles toddling beside her, clutching her hand. The little boy’s face lit up at the sight of Keira.

“Auntie!” he squealed, breaking free to run toward her. He couldn’t say her name the K was too much for him yet.

“Careful,” Sutton cautioned. “Auntie Keira is holding baby Olivia.”

Keira carefully knelt, balancing Olivia in one arm while opening the other to Miles. “There’s my favorite little man! Are you ready to help me get married today?”

Miles nodded solemnly, peering at his baby cousin like she was a ticking time bomb. “Baby,” he whispered, touching Olivia’s tiny foot with surprising gentleness.

“That’s right,” Keira smiled. “And you’re going to be the most handsome ring bearer ever.”

Sutton approached, dressed identically to Blair in flowing pale silver. “I just hope he doesn’t run off with the rings and dump them in the fountain.”

“Very funny. I’m sure he’ll be perfect.” Keira handed Olivia back to Blair before scooping Miles up for a quick cuddle.

“Come on, we’d better start getting you ready,” Sutton said.

“There is no rush; we have plenty of time.” Keira loved being around the kids and her sisters.

“Says the woman who was late to her own engagement party,” Blair reminded her, settling Olivia against her shoulder.

“That was different,” Keira protested. She was not going to tell them why she was late. Because it involved Alexei lifting her dress and taking her because he said he couldn’t wait.

Sutton turned to Elena, taking charge. “Elena, is the dress ready? Blair, you take Olivia and Miles downstairs to Roman and Luca. I’m going to make sure our baby sister doesn’t keep a prince and half of Wystovia waiting.”

Elena nodded, moving toward the adjoining dressing room as Blair gathered the children.

Chapter 214

Before leaving, Blair paused, her eyes suddenly misty.

“What is it?” Keira asked.

“Nothing, just…” Blair blinked rapidly. “You have changed so much in the last year and I… I wanted to let you know. I love you both and even though our parents died too young we had each other, and I couldn’t ask for better sisters.”

The three sisters looked at each other, a moment of silent understanding passing between them. So much had changed in their lives, but their bond remained unshakeable.

Sutton said softly, “I can’t have said it better.”

Keira felt a lump form in her throat. “Okay, enough of that or my makeup will be ruined before I even get into my dress.”

With a final squeeze of Keira’s hand, Blair left with the children. Sutton stayed, helping Elena bring out the wedding gown a masterpiece of silk and lace that somehow managed to be both royal and entirely Keira.

“It’s time,” Sutton said, lifting the dress carefully. “Let’s make you a princess.”

The palace chapel gleamed with candles on stands; every window was ancient stained glass. Flowers, white lilies were on every surface.

Standing in the antechamber, Keira took a deep breath, smoothing the front of her gown. King Theodore had offered to walk her down the aisle, a gesture that had surprised and touched her deeply. He stood beside her now, resplendent in his formal military attire.

“Nervous?” he asked.

“No,” Keira replied honestly. “I’m ready.”

The King nodded, appraising her with something like pride. “You’ve surprised us all, you know. You’ve taken to our country like it was always your own. I wasn’t sure you would.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” Keira said dryly.

To her surprise, Theodore laughed. “And there it is… that honesty Alexei loves so much. You’ve been good for him, Keira. Good for all of us. The good thing about not being in the direct line to the throne, you and Alexei have a freedom that Niko and Amelia will never have.”

Before she could respond, the music changed, signaling it was time. Blair and Sutton had already proceeded down the aisle, along with Amelia, who had insisted on participating despite having just given birth.

Keira had to struggle to stop the tears. She was very lucky with how welcoming Alexei’s family

had been.

The chapel doors swung open, revealing the packed room. Dignitaries from around the world, Wystovian nobility, and Keira’s growing circle of friends filled the sought only one person.
