Instead, she asked "What."
"You."
"Show me," she whispered.
Alexei's eyes darkened at her permission. His hands moved to her waist, fingers finding the hem of her oversized t-shirt. "You have no idea what you do to me," he murmured, his voice rough with need. "In that warehouse, when I thought we might die... all I could think about was how I'd never told you."
"Told me what?" Her breath caught as his thumbs traced small circles on her bare skin beneath the fabric.
"That you're not just some assistant I can't keep my hands off." His mouth found the sensitive spot where her neck met her shoulder. "You're the woman who drives me fucking crazy. Who challenges me. Who makes me want to be better than the headlines."
Keira's head fell back as he pressed open-mouthed kisses along her throat. "Alexei..." His warm mouth was like a live wire to her system it set her on fire. Who knew her neck was so sensitive.
"Tell me you want this. Tell me you want me." He said against her skin.
"I want you," she admitted, her hands fisting in his shirt. "God, yes."
His smile was pure sin. "Good."
He was then kissing her again, backing her toward the hallway. Once there she led the way to her bedroom. They stumbled together, mouths fused and hands all over each other. When they reached her bedroom doorway, he paused.
"Are you sure?" he asked, his breathing ragged. "Because once I have you in there..."
"I'm sure." She tugged him inside. "But your head—"
He kicked the door shut behind them. "The doctors cleared me. No permanent damage."
Keira reached for the light switch, but his hand caught her wrist.
"Leave it off," he said, his voice dropping lower. "I want to feel you in the dark. Like in the warehouse, but this time in your bed. This time without worry what tomorrow might bring. I'm going to take my time. I hope you don't plan on sleeping tonight."
The moonlight streaming through her bedroom window provided just enough illumination to see the hunger in his expression. Keira's pulse quickened as he backed her toward the bed, his hands never leaving her body.
"I've been thinking about this," he confessed, "About having you properly. In a real bed. Where I don't have to rush or worry about someone coming through the door."
