Once they reached her door Alexei took her in his arms, the heat of his mouth against hers making her forget where they were. His hands framed her face, thumbs stroking her cheeks as he pressed her against the doorframe. The kiss deepened, his tongue teasing hers as she melted against him, fingers clutching his lapels.

"I'll be back in less than thirty minutes," he murmured against her lips, voice rough with promise.

"Hurry," she whispers, her fingers trailing down his chest before moving to his erection as she trailed her fingers along his hard pants-covered length.

His eyes darken with desire. "If you fall asleep, I will wake you up don't worry."

One last bruising kiss and he's gone, striding down the corridor. Keira watches him until he disappears around the corner, her heart hammering against her ribs.

Inside her suite, she immediately kicks off her shoes before she reaches behind to unzip her gown, letting it pool at her feet in a shimmer of blue silk. Picking it up she drapes it over a chair.

She moves quickly into the bathroom, seeing herself in the mirror, as Alexei had last seen her, cheeks flushed, lips swollen from his kisses, hair coming loose from its elegant updo. She hadn't remembered his hands in her hair, but the evidence was there. Pulling it down the rest of the way.

She quickly took care of business, then steps into the shower, turning the water as hot as she can stand. The spray washes away the makeup, the hairspray, the polished facade she'd worn all evening. She scrubs herself clean, letting the water flow over her body.

Ten minutes later, towel-dried and hair still wet, she crawls into the massive bed. The sheets are cool against her naked skin as she stretches out, waiting for him. For a moment, she considers putting on something sexy from the lingerie that had mysteriously appeared in her wardrobe but discards the idea.

Alexei prefers her like this, bare with nothing between them. The sapphire ring glints on her finger as she settles against the pillows, her body humming with growing anticipation of his return.

The soft click of the balcony doors made Keira's eyes snap open. She hadn't been asleep, not this time.

She watched as Alexei stepped through, still in his formal shirt and trousers, though his jacket and tie were gone. He moved toward the bed with predatory grace.

"That was more than thirty minutes," she murmured, stretching against the sheets her breath already picking up the pace.

"Father wanted to discuss wedding plans." His eyes tracked the movement of her body beneath the thin sheet. "I told him we'd figure it out ourselves."

"How very thoughtful." She sat up, letting the sheet pool at her waist. "And here I thought you'd forgotten about me."
