Chapter 10

Just as Eliana let out a quiet breath, Anthony turned to her and said, Eliana, why don’t you come join us for dinner downstairs it’d be a good chee everyone to get to know each other.

Standing there, Anthony looked refined and gentle, his features chiseled. Compared to Theodore, who gave off an intense, dangerous aura, he seement: much easier to deal with.

But then Eliana remembered the rumorsthat it was Theodore who had once broken Anthony’s leg. And now, Anthony had become the new head of Russell Group. Her nerves immediately tensed again. I-

She had just started to speak when Theodore suddenly interrupted from behind, Ellie, didn’t you say you’d take care of my injury?

At his words, the expressions on everyone’s faces shifted, especially Alice, the woman Anthony had brought with him. She stared at Theodore, her eyes

filled with shock and bitterness.

Eliana, too, was stunned by the way he’d called her Ellie. She quickly turned to look at him. He lowered his gaze, and for once, that face usually feisted with rage seemed to carry a hint of something almost pitiful.

She had no idea what kind of game he was playing. Just a moment ago, he’d been gripping Jayden by the collar like he was ready to kill him.

Now he was standing there with a wounded look on his face, calling her Ellieso affectionately. It made her skin crawl.

Still, Eliana had said she would help him, and she intended to follow through. So she turned to Anthony and remarked, Mr. Anthony Russell, why don’t you go ahead? I’ll join you shortly.

Alright then.Anthony nodded without pressing. He then turned to Alice who was standing beside him. Let’s go, Alice.

Alice, who hadn’t said a word until now, answered distractedly, Okay.

Eliana couldn’t help but glance at her again. After all, a woman that beautiful and poised didn’t come around often.

After they left, Eliana suddenly remembered she’d forgotten to return Jayden’s slingshot. She slapped her forehead in frustration, then turned to Theodore. Sorry, I didn’t think you’d run into something like that right after I stepped away.

But Theodore was staring blankly in the direction of the door, lost in thought about something.

Seeing he was injured, Eliana was about to help him over to the couch and let him sit down so she could treat the wound on his forehead.

But the moment Theodore felt her touch, he slapped her hand away hard. Don’t touch me.

Eliana froze for a second, then looked closely at his face. There wasn’t even a trace of that pitiful expression left. In fact, he looked even more aggressive

than before.

Since that was the case, she dropped the sympathy altogether and said bluntly, Your grandfather’s sending a doctor tomorrow. I don’t want him thinking I’ve been mistreating you.

Theodore sneered inwardly, So that’s why she stood up to Jayden just now and stayed to help with my wound. She’s worried she won’t be able to explain herself to my grandfather.

Whatever flicker of joy he’d just felt disappeared without a trace.
