Were those people the ones who had Lena target her family?

"The black card was something I found in Lena's room," she said thoughtfully. "Looks like she's tied to some secret society."

Oliver's voice was full of concern. "Josie, you're not planning to go this alone, are you?"

A chuckle slipped out of Josie's mouth. "You know me too well. Now that I've got a lead, I have to check it out and confirm it. I had someone tail Lena, but she managed to give us the slip."

It was clear Lena had help, someone covering for her so she could meet her contact.

Gently taking her hand, Oliver spoke softly. "Josie, I’m coming with you. You can't face this alone. This group isn’t local—they’ve got roots overseas. I've dealt with them before; they’re cold-blooded."

"Don't worry, I'm not looking to get myself killed. So, we team up?"

He nodded. "Let me do some digging and find the right moment. You took that card from Lena's room, and she’s bound to know. Whoever’s on the other end will be coming for you."

"So what, you're going to make a fake card to get us in?"

Oliver playfully tapped her nose. "Clever girl, nothing gets past you, does it?"

Josie tilted her chin up with a sly grin. "Of course, I'm sharp as a tack."

His laughter spilled out, and he couldn’t resist planting a quick kiss on her lips.

It was like Oliver was addicted, holding Josie close and refusing to let go.

His kisses trailed down her slender neck, and she winced in pain, pushing him away.

"Oliver, what are you, part wolf?"

He smirked with a suggestive twinkle in his eye. "Maybe you want to bite back?"
