Mia dropped two sugar cubes into her coffee, noting Sarah's pale face. "Sarah, have you really broken up with my brother?"

Sarah gave a bitter smile. "Mr. Reynolds and Miss Wilson must be childhood sweethearts. I wish them well."

"That's not true!" Mia burst out. "Sarah, please don't misunderstand. There's nothing between my brother and Vivian. He doesn't have feelings for her."

"I heard your grandfather is already discussing it with the Wilsons. Vivian told me herself." Sarah recalled her conversation with Vivian and the scene outside the bar.

Mia shook her head. "Sarah, Grandfather never said anything about my brother and Vivian. He's always respected my brother's choices. I know he loves you."

Sarah smiled cynically. "If your grandfather respects his choices, why would he do those things?"

She didn't know what Zachary was hiding, nor did she want to know.

When she and Mia were kidnapped, he was chatting happily with Vivian.

When she went to the hospital in pain, she saw him with Vivian.

When she worried about him at the bar, she only saw Vivian taking him away.

Each incident was another crack in their relationship. If Grandfather hadn't forced these situations, they must have been Zachary’s own choices.

Mia opened her mouth several times but said nothing. She found it strange too - she knew her brother loved Sarah, yet he kept hurting her.

"Sarah, my brother truly loves you," she could only repeat, knowing what she'd seen and felt.

Sarah smiled faintly. "None of that matters now. Mia, regardless of what happens between your brother and me, we'll always be good friends."

"Yes!" Mia nodded firmly.

She took out a photograph from her bag and placed it on the desk - the one of her and Mia.

Opening her laptop, she planned to email Jane about this situation.

Most psychologists couldn't treat themselves. Looking at the photo, she couldn't tell if she was experiencing memory loss or another episode of confusion.

While sorting through recent paperwork, Dean Larson walked in with someone.

"Sarah, Mr. Reynolds would like a psychological consultation." The dean found it odd - weren't they friends? Why had Zachary come to him?

Sarah froze as she watched Zachary sit down seriously.
