When Charlotte tried to raise her bidding paddle, James stopped her. "Don't bid anymore."

But she wouldn't listen. Sarah’s target was Vivian, so she was sure Sarah will be determined to bait Vivian into making a higher bid.

She raised her paddle high, "Six billion two hundred million!"

The price had already far exceeded the island's actual value, but Charlotte, still unaware, waited eagerly for Sarah to raise the bid again.

To her surprise, neither Sarah nor Vivian made another bid.

"Six billion two hundred million, going once!"

"Six billion two hundred million, going twice!"

Charlotte's forehead was covered in sweat. Why weren't they bidding anymore?

"What?" Charlotte was still in a daze.

She had unknowingly purchased Crystal Bay. "Why?"

James was already being polite by not storming out immediately.

She glared angrily at the back of Sarah's chair, her eyes filled with fury. Sarah turned around and gave her a long look, eyes twinkling with amusement.

A chill ran down Charlotte's spine as she realized she'd been played.

After the Crystal Bay auction ended, a brief silence fell over the room. The intense atmosphere from earlier had dissipated.

The next three properties - the Southwest suburbs, Ling East Island, and Barton Island - sold for five billion, two billion, and four and a half billion respectively.

The next property up for auction was Harbour Crescent. Sarah could feel the previously relaxed atmosphere suddenly turn serious.

Melvin whispered in Sarah's ear, "Time to focus."

Sarah nodded slightly but kept her eyes on Charlotte in the front row, who sat with a straight back, apparently also getting serious.

"James, I'm sorry, I didn't expect..." she tried to apologize.

But James wouldn't even look at her, just calmly watching others bid while suppressing the anger building inside him.

Mr. Anderson raised his paddle again, "Six billion two hundred million."

In truth, any price over six billion was already far above Harbour Crescent's actual value.

However, if it really was along the new shipping route, its value couldn't be calculated by normal standards.

Sarah raised her paddle and named a price that stunned everyone, "Seven billion."

This was among the highest bids of the entire auction, causing most people to draw sharp breaths.

Even Melvin looked at Sarah in shock, though he would support whatever she decided to do.
