As Mr. Anderson left, Vivian and Charlotte stared intently at Sarah's retreating figure, unable to believe how thoroughly they'd been played.

"Stop right there!"

Just as Sarah and Melvin were about to leave, Vivian called out loudly, "Sarah!"

"What else does Miss Wilson want to say? The auction is over."

"I don't need you to remind me that the auction is over. What surprises me is how calculating you are. I'm impressed by how well you played me. But I want to know who told you about Pine Mist Island. Was it Zachary?" She glanced briefly at Zachary beside her.

In all of East Coast, only Zachary could have accessed such confidential documents. She didn't know how Mr. Anderson had obtained them, but she was certain Sarah's information had come from Zachary.

Sarah gave a self-mocking laugh. "Miss Wilson, are you asking me or interrogating me? Besides, why should I tell you anything?"

She looked through the crowd at Charlotte and said meaningfully, "Miss Garnett, it was a pleasure working with you."

Vivian whirled to look at Charlotte, while James turned to her with furrowed brows.

When they tried to question Sarah further, they found she had already left with Melvin and Scarlett.

Vivian turned to Zachary, "Zach, I have something to ask Charlotte. You can leave first, don't wait for me."

She paused before addressing James, "Mr. Chancer, could I have a word with your wife?"

She held her cheek in disbelief, staring at the cold-eyed Vivian as tears streamed down her face. "You hit me? You dare hit me?"

"Why wouldn't I dare? You collaborated with that wretch to trick me into spending a fortune on a worthless island. Can you compensate me for such a huge loss?" Vivian finally snapped.

Charlotte shook her head in anguish, feeling her cheek swelling up.

"It was your own decision to bid on Harbour Crescent. I told you everything Sarah said to me, without holding anything back. I'm a victim too! I was forced to buy Crystal Bay, and James is already furious with me." Charlotte trembled remembering James's earlier glare.

"Charlotte, have you forgotten what leverage I have over you? This isn't over. You think Sarah's evidence is all there is? I have even more than she does!"

"What are you going to do?" Charlotte's eyes widened in fear.
