Zachary gave a bitter smile. "Go. I know you don't want to help me. Just leave. Be careful of Vivian after you get out - I suspect she's behind this. Sasa, she's far more dangerous than you imagine."

This was his final warning, yet Sarah still didn't speak.

His heart felt like it had been stabbed twice. The moon still hung in the sky, drifting westward.

In the darkness, Sarah suddenly looked up, her eyes brimming with tears that now streamed down her face.

"Zachary, never say things like that again."

"Which things?" Zachary asked.

Sarah smiled through her tears: "Telling me to leave you."

"Hah, how could I possibly leave you!"

Sarah found a metal rod in her car's trunk, wedged it against the door, and forced it open with all her strength.

She finally saw Zachary's leg clearly - trapped and covered in bloody marks.

"Zachary!" she cried out.

Zachary smiled wryly. "I wasn't lying. My leg needs proper rescue. I have to rely on you this time."

Sarah lifted her head, feeling the breeze on her cheeks.

She had to make a bold decision. Leaving Zachary here meant he'd be defenseless against wild animals.

But without a signal, no one would ever know if she didn't go for help.

Sarah and Zachary supported each other, both covered in wounds after their harrowing chase.

Zachary suddenly wished time would stop - how wonderful it would be if this moment could last forever.

That night, Sarah helped Zachary down the mountain and westward, walking for over an hour before reaching civilization. As soon as they made it, both their phones started ringing frantically.

Before Zachary could return any calls, Steven called again. "Boss! Where have you been?"

Zachary, seeing his phone's critically low battery, quickly shared the essential information before his phone died minutes later.

After nearly two hours of walking, Sarah finally collapsed at the sight of the gas station's lights, her body giving in to the pain from the violent collision. Zachary wasn't much better - he lost consciousness the moment they reached the station.
