Mr. Wilson pulled something from behind him and tossed it at her feet.

"You mean this shadow you saw? Was it this?"

Vivian stared in disbelief.

"This…?"

"From the moment you had your first nightmare, I had people watching the villa’s surroundings. Tonight, the so-called ghost you saw? It was just a piece of white cloth.

"The person behind it got away, but they left this behind."

His eyes were ice-cold.

Then he scoffed.

"Idiot. You’ve been played and didn’t even realize it. Do you actually believe in ghosts? You’ve thrown away every bit of education you’ve ever received."

The tight grip of fear in Vivian’s chest suddenly loosened.

She let out a breathless chuckle, which quickly turned into anger.

"Who?! Who would dare mess with me like this?!"

Mr. Wilson leaned back, watching her. "Find out for yourself. I’ll give you full authority to investigate, but don’t let it interfere with our plans. You’ve already slowed us down enough these past few days."

Vivian lowered her gaze. "I understand, Grandpa. I’ll get myself back on track."

He eyed the swollen redness on her cheek but ultimately sighed.

"As for Tina Mendes—stay out of it. I’ll handle it from here."

Relief flooded through her. "Thank you, Grandpa.”

Mr. Wilson turned his attention to a stack of documents beside him. "The strategy team did a good job with this proposal. We’ll move forward with it as planned."

Then he paused and looked at her again.

"By the way, how are things with Zachary? Any progress between you two?"

Vivian’s expression darkened slightly. She didn’t answer his question.

Instead, a different thought surfaced in her mind—something her assistant had mentioned on their way back from Brookshire.

Zachary stepped out of his car, falling into step beside Vivian as they walked through the grand entrance together.

Inside, Mr. Wilson greeted them with a warm, grandfatherly smile.

"I’ve been wanting to invite you over for dinner for a while now," he said with a warm smile. "But I figured work must keep you busy. Tonight, though, I have a special treat for you."

He gestured toward a beautifully displayed bottle of wine.

"This is no ordinary bottle. It’s Romanée-Conti Grand Cru, the King of Wines. It was personally acquired for me at a Sotheby’s auction. The final bid? Over half a million dollars."

Mr. Wilson’s gaze held a trace of satisfaction as he observed Zachary’s reaction.

Zachary glanced at the bottle.

Romanée-Conti Grand Cru was a rare, limited-release wine. Even at prestigious auctions, only a handful of bottles ever made it to bidding, often being snapped up instantly. The fact that Mr. Wilson had managed to secure one meant he had pulled considerable strings.

He smirked slightly.

"If Grandpa knew I got to enjoy such a fine bottle at the Wilson estate, he’d scold me endlessly when I got home," Zachary teased.
