Melvin finally calmed down. "How's the situation now?" he asked gravely.
Sarah's tone grew serious too. “The factory situation is complicated. Even Manager Sullivan…”
She paused, then asked, “Melvin, is Mr. Lambert trustworthy?”
Melvin thought for a moment. "In the current factory situation, even I don't know who's trustworthy anymore. Mr. Lambert has been with your father for twenty years. Since your father's passing, he's maintained contact with Sanders Group, though not as closely as before."
"What about Manager Sullivan?”
“He’s…”
Sarah glanced toward the doorway and froze. A man in a suit was helping a bloodied man walk by.
She couldn't mistake that face. Why was Zachary here? And who was the injured man he was supporting?
"Sasa? Hello, are you listening?" Melvin's concerned voice came through the phone.
Sarah snapped back to reality. “Melvin, something's come up. I'll call you back."
She pulled out her IV, put on her shoes, and quietly followed the two figures.
In the pharmacy, Zachary handed medication to the man beside him. "Charlie, haven't you had enough? Still want to gamble after this?"
Charlie winced in pain but stubbornly replied, "Of course! I have to win back everything I lost!" He looked at Zachary with fawning eyes. "Bro, I saw your skills at the gambling den. You're amazing! Teach me your tricks! You must be rich - could you lend me some money?"
He asked uncertainly, "Who was that?"
"That woman from Sanders headquarters, here to investigate the factory. She's staying at our place. You wouldn't believe how difficult she is, but I put her in her place!" Charlie boasted.
Zachary's eyes turned cold. "Oh? How did you do that?"
"I knew there'd be a storm yesterday, so I moved her to our dangerous old room where the roof leaks like a waterfall. She's in the hospital because she was freezing all night. And I'm not done with her yet..."
Before Charlie could finish bragging, Zachary's fist connected with his face. Then he walked away.
Charlie jumped in shock, now sporting a black eye on top of his other injuries. "Hey! What's wrong with you? Are you crazy? Hitting me for no reason! What did I ever do to you?"
