Even when mealtime arrived, not a single worker put down their tasks.

"Alright everyone, take a break. Today I'm treating you all to something special," Sarah called out, clapping her hands as she walked through the doorway. Several food carts loaded with sandwiches, pasta, and fresh salads followed behind her.

The delicious aroma of hot food drifted through the air. Only then did the workers realize how hungry they were. They jumped up excitedly, shouting, "Thank you, Miss Sanders!"

Seeing the joyful atmosphere in the factory, Sarah felt the tension she'd carried all day begin to ease.

She wasn't very hungry, so she decided to step outside for some fresh air.

While looking around aimlessly, she unexpectedly spotted a pair of timid eyes peering at her from behind a rock.

Sarah walked over curiously.

Behind the rock was a little girl with a dirty face and clothes that had been torn in several places by tree branches.

"Hello there, little one. What are you doing here?" Sarah crouched down. Seeing the girl flinch, she quickly softened her voice to reassure her.

The girl sniffled. Perhaps deciding that the woman before her didn't seem dangerous, she hesitated before answering, "I'm lost."

The factory was in a remote location, and the girl was young, so it made sense she couldn't find her way home.

Sarah didn't think too much of it. She stood up with a smile and held out her hand. "Come on, sweetie. I'll take you home."

"Will you really take me home? Mom says there are kidnappers outside and I shouldn't trust strangers," the girl said fearfully, shrinking back while honestly expressing her concerns.

Sarah suppressed her urge to laugh, not wanting to frighten the child. She cleared her throat softly and continued in a gentle voice, "Sweetie, do you think I look nice?"

The girl nodded.

She had been in the village for quite some time but had never heard of anyone living up there.

A flash of conflict crossed the little girl's eyes, but she quickly steeled her resolve and nodded firmly. "Yes. I remember our house is on the mountain, but I can't remember exactly where."

Seeing the girl's trembling shoulders and cautious gaze, Sarah reassured her, "Don't be afraid. We'll find it together."

After all, not everyone in the village had money. Perhaps some people really did live on the mountainside.

The mountain was covered with trees. Now, with the change of seasons, yellow leaves were falling. Dried branches and roots were everywhere, and fallen leaves covered the ground, making a rustling sound as they walked.

As they made their way along the mountainside, Sarah remembered to ask, "How did you get lost?"

The little girl quickly replied, "I was playing today when I saw a rabbit. I followed it down the mountain, and then I got lost. I walked and walked until I ended up at that factory."
