"I-I'm telling you, this is in the town, not up in the remote hills. If you try to beat me up, bystanders definitely won't just stand by and watch," he stammered, trying to intimidate Zachary while his hand secretly reached for the door bolt.

"Relax. I didn't come to beat you today. I'm just curious—why are you so fixated on her?" Zachary asked calmly, fishing for information.

He had already made up his mind before coming. If Charlie truly had a grievance with Sarah, he would find a way to send her away. Even if she ended up hating him, that would be better than leaving her in danger.

When Charlie heard that Zachary wasn't there to beat him, he immediately relaxed, though his body language remained wary as he kept his eyes fixed on Zachary.

"What else could it be?" Charlie sighed. "Though I never planned to ask for just six million.” His face showed a defeated look as he honestly confessed everything.

"So you took such a risk?" Zachary didn't know whether to call him clever or foolish. Even if he got the money, he couldn't escape the police in such a small place.

"Let's forget about what happened. But from now on, stay away from Sarah. Otherwise, I absolutely won't let you off," Zachary offered Charlie a way out.

Charlie certainly didn't want to lose Zachary as his "golden ticket."

He nodded vigorously. "Of course, man. Now that you've made yourself clear, and I understand your relationship with Sarah—I mean, Miss Sanders—I definitely won't mess up again."

Zachary let out a slight grunt, considering the matter settled.

Zachary held up one finger. "Worth two million."
