She bit her lip hard, regaining some clarity, then shouted toward the stairway, "Help! Someone come quickly! Save my baby!"

The ambulance arrived quickly. Everyone carefully lifted Charlotte inside, where doctors and nurses immediately began emergency procedures.

The housekeeper went along in the ambulance to the hospital.

On the way, he called both James and Mrs. Chancer, briefly explaining what had happened and giving them the hospital's location.

After receiving the call, James put aside his work and rushed to the hospital as quickly as possible.

Mrs. Chancer was both anxious and angry. She hit him three times and scolded him through her tears, "So you still call me Mom! I think you're just waiting for me to die! James, I'm telling you, if anything happens to my grandchild today, don't ever call me Mom again."

She clutched James's hand tightly, dreading any bad news.

The director walked beside them, answering calmly, "Don't worry, ma'am. Ms. Garnett was brought in promptly. Both mother and child are safe now."

Hearing this, Mrs. Chancer immediately relaxed and let out a deep breath. "Thank goodness."

James's expression remained unchanged, as composed as ever. He nodded to the director and said politely, "Thank you for taking care of my wife and child. We appreciate your efforts."

The director humbly replied, "No need for thanks, Mr. Chancer. It's my duty."

He led them to the door of a luxury hospital room and stopped. "Ms. Garnett is on an IV drip. The anesthesia should still be working. If she wakes up and needs anything, you can press the call button at the head of the bed. I've instructed the attending physician to be on standby around the clock."
