Fortunately, he could still remember what Sarah had once told him, "If you think of anything else about the dream, you must tell me."

Zachary instinctively pressed the special dial button.

"Beep..." A long tone rang out, accompanied by pedestrians' screams and the chaotic sound of cars. A sharp pain shot through his forehead, and he lost consciousness.

Sarah was sleeping soundly when the sudden phone call woke her in the middle of the night.

Slightly annoyed, she felt around the edge of her bed, grabbed her phone, and answered without looking. "Who is it?"

The formal tone on the other end instantly woke Sarah. She jumped out of bed, her eyes bright in the darkness, and said in disbelief, "Where are you located? I'll be right there."

She wedged the phone between her neck and shoulder, frantically getting dressed while responding with "Mm-hmm" as she noted down the address.

When she arrived at the city center hospital, Sarah's mind was still foggy. She took a moment to calm herself, breathing deeply before approaching the police officers standing at the doorway of the hospital room.

"Officers, I'm sorry I'm late. I'm Sarah Sanders.”

The female officer spoke first, "Hello, Ms. Sanders. We received a report about an accident at the West District intersection. When we arrived, we found that the gentleman lying on the ground seemed to be trying to call you before he passed out."

The male officer continued, "We're not sure about your relationship with the gentleman inside. If you don't mind telling us, what is your connection?"

Sarah glanced at the man still unconscious in the hospital bed. "I'm his friend."

The female officer nodded. "Alright, Ms. Sanders. Don't worry—your friend isn't in serious condition. The doctor's diagnosis shows only external injuries to his head for now."

Sarah sighed with relief, though her expression revealed nothing.

After signing the papers and thanking the officers, Sarah began to worry again.

She was currently living with Mia, and there was no way to hide Zachary's accident from her.

In his sleep, Zachary lay quietly on the bed. The warm yellow light fell on his pale face, giving this usually unapproachable man a touch of vulnerability.

Sarah sat on the stool, resting her chin in her hand, staring at his flawless face from every angle for a long time, until she yawned.

Drowsiness overtook her again.

Not caring about comfort, Sarah simply buried her head down and fell asleep leaning on the bed.

Deep night fell, and everything was quiet.

Sarah hazily opened her eyes to find Zachary sweating profusely, as if caught in a nightmare, mumbling, "I saw it... Mom... help..."

Sarah stood up and reached out to check his temperature. He felt a bit feverish.

She went out to get a basin of cool water, soaked a towel in it, wrung it out, and carefully wiped the sweat from his forehead, avoiding his wound.
