Greta had a way of stirring the pot. "Sis, you've suddenly lowered your guard. You must be after something, huh?"

Jackson couldn't stand people who lacked integrity, so his attitude towards Nathalie turned frosty in an instant. He scoffed, "It's a shame my brother has no time for those who grovel for fame and fortune. Ashley, just leave. My brother won't see you, so why embarrass yourself here?"

Morris's gaze was as cold as ice. "It's pathetic that the Sharp family has raised someone as clueless as you."

Jackson's handsome face flushed with anger. "Mr. Rowland, if you look down on the Sharp family, why are you here looking for a job? We don’t need disloyal people like you. You can leave."

Morris replied coolly, "The Sharp family isn’t yours to control."

Jackson sneered, "You won’t admit defeat until you hit a wall. Let me be straight with you—I’ve already told my brother about your disgraceful behavior. He made it clear yesterday. No matter how talented you might be, the Sharp family won’t hire someone with a twisted mind. Even if you kneel here until you drop, you won’t see my brother."

Greta took the opportunity to pile on, "Sis, Jackson’s laid it out for you. Why hang around and humiliate yourself?"

Nathalie clenched her fists. If it were anyone else, she'd have walked away. But today was pivotal for Morris's family reunion, and she wanted to keep things peaceful.

"Jackson, it’s better to make peace than hold grudges," Nathalie said, trying to calm the situation, but Morris wasn’t having it.

He pulled Nathalie closer, concern etched on his face. "Nathalie, why waste your breath? If we’re not welcome, let's just leave. You don’t need to put up with this for me."

"Nathan, don't make a scene."

Just then, the doorman came rushing out, out of breath. He addressed Morris and Nathalie, "My master has invited you both inside to talk."

Jackson felt uneasy, a wave of helplessness washing over him as he realized he was losing control.

His standing in the Sharp family was shaky at best. He was the result of a one-night stand between Mr. Vincent and his mother while Vincent was on a business trip—his mother’s doing.

Even though Mr. Vincent's first wife had died years before, he felt nothing for Jackson's mother. She had hoped to use Jackson to gain power, but Mr. Vincent decided to keep the son and send the mother away.

Mr. Vincent had told his own sons, "I don’t take lives, so I kept him. You can look after him. But as for inheritance, he’s not in the running."

Thanks to Jules and his brothers, Jackson had managed to live a relatively comfortable life within the Sharp family.
