Jules' face, usually so composed and refined, was now a canvas of hesitation and inner turmoil.

Being in the later years of his life, he had always shared a close bond with his mother. Yet, the revelation that his youngest brother wasn't actually related by blood was a shock he never saw coming. Should he decide to dig into his brother's origins, it could potentially tip off his brother and create a rift in the family.

"Mr. Rowland, what you've told me today is incredibly significant. I'll look into it thoroughly and get back to you with what I find," Jules assured, his voice steady but his mind racing.

Morris gave a slight nod, acknowledging the weight of the conversation.

Jules almost lost his footing as he left the room, the gravity of the situation pressing down on him.

At the Sharp family estate, Jules returned home looking visibly shaken and retreated into his room for a long time. Once he had sorted through his thoughts, he summoned the family’s longtime butler for an in-depth, private chat.

"How long have you been with our family, Butler?" Jules asked.

"Jules, thanks to your family's generosity, I've served the Sharp family for forty-four years," the butler replied.

"You've done an excellent job," Jules acknowledged, though his mind was clearly elsewhere. He suddenly looked up, his gaze sharp and probing. "The Sharp family has four children. Besides me, who doesn't have any heirs, which of the other three do you think could take the reins of Vincent Corporation?"

The butler seemed caught off guard. "Jules, you're still in good health. It's a bit early to be considering this."

Jules pressed on, "What do you think about the youngest?"

The butler's eyes widened in alarm. "The youngest? Jackson is still so young and carefree. He doesn't have a head for business."

Jules locked eyes with the butler. "He's inexperienced now, but he's bright. With the right mentoring, he could be prepared."

The butler's anxiety only deepened. "Even if Jackson has the smarts to handle Vincent Corporation, what about after him? His only child, Lydia, is more interested in enjoying life than running a business."

Inside, his heart felt like it was being swept by a biting wind, leaving it shivering in cold.

"If it weren't for his hint, I would've never suspected any switcheroo in the Sharp family," thought Jules, secretly impressed by Morris's sharpness.

The butler's expression shifted, a telltale sign.

Jules cut straight through the façade. "Butler, what kind of family do you think we are? We're a distinguished lineage. My mother went to the best hospitals for the three of us. Why would she risk a home birth when she was older and the pregnancy was high-risk?"

Faced with Jules' direct scrutiny, the butler was clearly uncomfortable.

"Jules, the matriarch lacked experience when she had you, so she opted for the hospital. By the time Jackson came along, she was more seasoned and found hospital visits burdensome. Plus, Jackson's arrival was sudden, leaving no time to get to the hospital."
