Elijah didn't mind the pain. In fact, he just smiled and led Liesel into the venue.

Knowing who Elijah was, the guests eagerly greeted him.

After handing the gift to the Sharp family's butler, Elijah then guided Liesel step by step toward Jacob. He was clearly beaming. "Mr. Ford, we meet again."

Jacob's gaze lightly swept over Liesel, who met his eyes with a cold expression and held onto Elijah's arm a little tighter.

Elijah chuckled and said, "Lili, don't be nervous. You've been working with Mr. Ford for three years now; surely you're still not intimidated by him. Oh, right, not everyone is as approachable as I am."

The remark seemed aimed at Jacob as a jab. However, Jacob didn't focus on that and only noticed Elijah calling her "Lili."

Jacob's gaze turned ice cold as he said, "It appears you two have a close relationship."

"Very close indeed. We've even met each other's family members," Elijah replied cheerfully while making sure not to miss a word.

Jacob found it laughable, but in Elijah's view, they truly had met each other's most important family member.

Liesel stood calmly beside him. Her faint smile was unwavering even as the man's cold eyes glanced over her.

"Lili, why don't you show me around your old room?" Elijah asked, seemingly on purpose.

Not wanting to linger here, Liesel agreed without hesitation.

"Keep dreaming."

Liesel pushed him aside and turned to head downstairs, but she suddenly spotted Natalie coming out of another room. Seeing her, Liesel froze on the spot.

Her body began to tremble and her eyes turned red as she stared at Natalie who wasn't far away. Her gaze was fixed on the silver gown Natalie was wearing.

Before Elijah could react, Liesel, who was overcome with emotions, had already rushed over and grabbed Natalie by the hair without a hint of restraint.

She dragged her to the nearest room. Her voice was low and venomous as she shouted, "Take this dress off! You don't deserve to wear this!"

This dress was one her mother had personally designed and worn. How dare Natalie, the illegitimate daughter born of an affair, defile this dress!
