Chapter 128
FREDA WHITLOCK
I was awake before I opened my eyes. I was greeted with a slight headache and lots of warmth. I was wrapped in two warm hands and the air in the room was warm. Warmer than I liked my room to be, but it was fine.
I took in a deep breath and was greeted with Kaiden’s scent. My heart slammed against my ribcage so hard that I lost my breath and my ability to breathe. I tried to move and I heard him groan in protest. “Kaiden…” I whispered, finally unwinding myself from his tight grip.
I climbed out of the bed and stepped away from it to examine the room. I had not been in this place before. I walked to the window and found that we were surrounded by trees. The area seemed somewhat familiar but that was it.
I walked towards the door and left the room quietly so that I would not wake him up. I looked around the house as I headed towards the living room from the bedroom area. The house was small, compact, and just beautiful. The interior decoration was like I had stepped into the house from one of my dreams.
It was everything I had ever imagined… Years ago. Now, I had a son. My tastes had only changed slightly. I wanted enough space for my son or any other children I would have to play.
I walked into the kitchen and was greeted with state-of-the-art technology. It was gorgeous. It made me wonder where exactly

I was. This was not the pack house and it was not my house either. Where was I?
I walked out of the kitchen and headed in the direction I had assumed a bathroom would be. It was at the end of the hallway where the rooms were. I walked in. It was crisp and new. The entirety of the house seemed untouched. It seemed to have been built for a while but it was untouched. For some reason, I was glad I was the person staying here first.
I found two toothbrushes on the island, along with bath products. All of them were orange-scented, and they were amazing. Orange was my favorite fruit years ago. Now, it was peach.
1 was still fine with oranges though.
I pressed toothpaste onto my toothbrush and started brushing after I tested the faucet to see if water was flowing. After brushing, I stepped into the shower cubicle. I waited for the water to warm up before taking off my clothes and letting the water rain on me.
I smiled as I watched the glass fog up. I drew a smiley face on the fogged-up glass wall and watched the steam slowly cover the smiley face up again. The two-in-one shampoo and
conditioner ran through my hair first, and then I washed my body with the washcloth and orange-scented body wash.
By the time I was done, I was smelling like a citrus orchard and someone was knocking on the door.
I looked around for a toweling robe and found nothing. Only a towel that would barely cover me properly if I tried to wrap it around myself. My face flamed with embarrassment and

annoyance. I should have checked for that first before I went into the shower, d**n it.
The knock came in the door louder now since I had shut off the shower and I had no choice but to answer. “I’m in here,” I said, wrapping the towel around myself and clutching it tightly.
I would have put in the clothes I had worn before so I would not have to be faced with the awkward embarrassment of walking around with a skimpy towel, but the clothes stank of alcohol and sweat and I just could not wear them.
“Right…” Kaiden’s voice came from the other side. “I just wanted to be sure…I woke up, and you were not in bed,” he said, and I forced back the blood that rushed to my face. Instead, I decided to tease him.
“You heard the shower running. Who else could it have been?” I asked quietly. I could sense his discomfort through the door and for a second, I panicked. “Is there someone else here?” Oh goddess, what the f**k? If there was someone else here, I was going to die of embarrassment, but I’d kill Kaiden first.
“No, no.” He said and hesitated. “I just… I wanted to be sure I didn’t imagine yesterday,” he said, and I could not stop the blood that raced to my face while burning everything in its wake.
“F**k,” I muttered under my breath. Who knew Kaiden could be this adorable?
“Right…” I said, deciding to put an end to this before it went too far. I needed some time to gather my thoughts so I would not begin to regret everything that had happened from the moment I returned to the school for my car up to this moment:
