I looked at Jack indifferently.

"I've said it before, I won't give her any shares. Since you think she's so talented, if I can succeed in my business, she can too."

Jack was momentarily speechless.

After a long pause, he said again, "She doesn't have the ability you do. You're not even managing the company, so what would you do with those shares?"

Although he knew his reasoning was weak, he stubbornly pushed on. "Mom and Dad spoil you so much. Whether you have shares or not, you're still their beloved daughter, aren't you?"

That was the first time I had ever heard that reasoning. I couldn't help but feel confused.

"What kind of spell has Elsa cast on you? If you want to go out of your way to please her, don't drag me into it. The company is Mom's and Dad's hard work, and no matter what, I won't let it go."

Jack was furious. He raised his hand, but as soon as he glanced at Dad and Mom, he awkwardly lowered it.

I ignored him and instead turned to look at Elsa, who had been hiding behind him. "Elsa, you really are a pro at controlling people."

After that, I gently patted Mom's hand, stood up, and said, "Since all the questions have been asked, I'm going to head back now. Levi and I still need to discuss the details of the studio."

Dad nodded. "Alright, just remember to visit often."

Before leaving, Mom pulled me aside, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Jae, is your junior…"

I quickly waved my hand. "No way. We've been friends for years, Mom. Don't worry, I'm not the type to go around falling in love."

Mom beamed with relief. "That's good to hear."

Seeing my puzzled expression, she continued with a smile, "I still think that the best future son-in-law candidate is Eric."

Even without a mirror, I knew I looked exhausted.

As soon as I spoke, they both quieted down, and the car was filled with an odd silence. I didn't even know when I had fallen asleep. When I woke up, it was already the next morning.

I was still in the same evening gown from yesterday. I was lying on the bed with my heels neatly placed beside it.

Rubbing my eyes, I was surprised to find that my makeup had been completely removed.

It was impressive how carefully they managed to keep quiet and not disturb my sleep, especially when they both loved to argue.

After taking a shower and changing into my loungewear, I walked out of the bedroom. Both Levi and Eric were already sitting in the living room. They said nothing, and the atmosphere was strangely calm.

"You two…" I said softly, afraid to break the silence.
