Devin's brow twitched as he locked his gaze on Andrew. After a long silence, he asked cautiously, "That Starlight Elixir you showed earlier… Did you refine it yourself? It wasn't from someone else?"

Andrew chuckled. "Mr. Kaplan, I've already fallen out with Sovereign's Apothecary. You really think any of the other ninth-grade alchemists would bother selling to me now? All the high-tier alchemists out there are basically their lapdogs. So, unless I work for myself, what other choice do I have?"

Devin froze for a moment, then broke into laughter. "Andrew, you've got guts. Fine. Since you've laid it all out, you've earned this deal. But first, hand over that Starlight Elixir."

Andrew immediately shook his head. "I'm afraid that's not going to happen."

Devin's expression darkened. He looked genuinely offended, as if Andrew had just spit in his face. After all, he had already been generous enough to compromise.
