GINA'S POV
I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the pottery session in front of me. The noble of the pack chatted and laughed around me. I tried to focus in how their hands shaped the clay but I couldn't focus on anything else but my thoughts.
Our pottery session today was supposed to be a relaxing activity. It was also a chance for us to bond and for me to fulfill my duties as Luna. But my mind was filled with emotions couldn't control. I couldn't belived Alpha Ferris refused me! He even said I couldn't compete with Elise, on what grounds! I'm Luna afterall.
Suddenly, Jackson’s voice echoed in my mind, taunting me.
"Elise..." he had moaned as I sucked his cock. At the thought of that day, I gripped the clay so hard it began to crumble under my finger.
My frustration seeped into the very material I was supposed to be molding. How could he still be thinking of her? Elise. What was so special about her? She was practically a maid now.
I thought Jackson never cared about Elise. What the hell was going on now? I needed to find a way to humiliate her even more. That way, I would get her out of his mind and bring his main focus to me.
That little bitch. She was always getting in the way of everything. I wondered what was so special about her anyway. She was nothing, a nobody.
"Careful, Luna Gina," Lady Janet said gently. She sat beside me. Her eyes flickered to my hands.
I forced a smile, trying to control myself.. "I will be" I said "Thank you"
I tried to focus on the clay, trying to shape it into something presentable, but my thoughts betrayed me again.
This time, I thought of Alpha Ferris. His name alone made my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. The Lycan King had been my last hope, my plan to seduce him for a powerful alliance.
Sure, I was Jackson's Luna but there was nothing wrong with aiming higher. Alpha Ferris was the Lycan King - the most feared leader on the continent. His name alone made people shiver in fear. I wanted to get on his good side.
What other way that to entice a man than to seduce him? I mean, my good looks and charm have always worked for me but not this time. I couldn't believe what happened that day. He pushed me out of his room without a second thought.
My grip on the clay tightened once more, and before I knew it, the pot I was shaping collapsed into a soggy mess. Wet clay splattered onto my dress, staining the fine and expensive fabric.
"Damn it!" I snapped. My voice came out harsher than I intended. The attendant closest to me flinched
"Let me help you out, your grace" She tried to help me wipe off the stain but I was so angry that I slapped her hand away. "Don't fucking touch me, you peasant!"
Her eyes widened in shock. She bowed her head "I'm sorry, Luna" Realizing my outburst, I took a deep breath and forced a tight smile.
"I'm sorry, that was uncalled for. Please forgive me." The attendant nodded quickly then left. The noble ladies exchanged glances and whispered.
I instantly regretted my outburst. They knew my parents, and I couldn't afford to have them gossiping about my tantrums. I had to keep up the golden child image.
"I need to excuse myself," I said. I stood, brushing the clay from my dress as best as I could, and walked out of the room. The moment I was alone, I let out a scream of frustration. What the hell is happening?
"No. I really am sorry. Please, continue. I'm here for you." Before I could respond, there was a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"A royal guard"
"Come in" A guard entered and bowed his head "Luna Gina, the tournament has already begun. I was sent here to remind you"
The tournament? I had forgotten all about that. It was an avenue for fighters and other kinds of warriors to showcase themselves and compete.
At the mention of the tournament, something clicked in my head.
"Who's there?" I asked. The guard listed a few names, but my attention snapped into focus when he mentioned King Ferris.
A plan began to form in my mind. If King Ferris was there, this could be my chance to make him like me.
I turned to the guard "Send for Elise. Tell her I need to speak with her immediately." The guard nodded and left the room. Helen looked at me in confusion "What are you planning?"
I grinned "I'm going to make a fool of Elise"
