Gavin was taken aback. After a long pause, he finally said, “It’s a happy day. I don’t want anything to happen. to you in my home.”

Britney was stunned for a moment. Only now did she realize just how out of line her actions had been. Trying to end her life in the Yates Manor was way over the line.

In the heat of the moment, Britney had cast everything else from her mind. She looked at Gavin with. It “I’m sorry.”

Gavin shook his head. “Ms. Watson, I keep my word. As long as you stay alive, I’ll help you get your revenge.”

Britney gave a bitter smile. “Gavin, thank you, but that won’t be necessary.”

‘He and I are basically strangers. Why would Gavin go out of his way to help me?‘ Britney thought. ‘I should deal with my own problems.‘

Even though Britney didn’t have the power to make those two scumbags pay right now, the future was long, and one day, she’d make them pay for what they’d done.

Gavin was taken aback. Just a moment ago, Britney looked like she was counting on him for revenge. ‘Why the sudden change of heart?‘ he wondered.

“Ms. Watson, are you still thinking about ending your life?” Gavin asked, his brow furrowing.

Britney shook her head. “Gavin, thank you for tonight. You made me realize one thing. Before I make those who hurt me pay the price, I have to stay alive–and live well.”

Gavin finally breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing that she was calmer now, he told her to get some rest and then turned to leave, heading back to the garden to continue setting off fireworks.

Britney, on the other hand, took out a sticky note from the drawer, scribbled a line on it, and quietly slipped

away.

Cameron took a bunch of photos and sent them to Bradley. Bradley sent her a ton of pictures, too.

Bradley: [Cam, my only regret this year is not having you here with me.]

Cameron looked up at the fireworks lighting up the sky and at her family by her side, feeling truly content. She replied: [Brad, we’ll finally see each other tomorrow.]

Bradley: [Yeah, wait for me.]

She set off fireworks with her family until after ten, then went back to the living room to chat and watch TV together. The whole family was having a great time together.

Jacqueline glanced upstairs. “Gavin, is Ms. Watson resting?”

Gavin nodded. “She should be asleep by now.”

Gavin had wanted to invite Britney to join them, but since she wasn’t feeling up to it, he figured it was best to let her rest.

The Yates family stayed up late together, waiting for the clock to hit midnight. When the clock finally struck twelve, the courtyard exploded with firecrackers.

Fireworks were going off everywhere, lighting up the night. It was officially the new year now.

At midnight, Cameron got a call from Bradley.

With fireworks bursting across the sky, Bradley’s gentle voice came through the phone. “Cam, Merry

Christmas!”

Cameron gazed at the night sky, glowing red from the fireworks. “Brad, Merry Christmas!”

At the Saunders Manor, the whole Saunders family had just finished watching classic Christmas movies

together as well.

Everyone was heading back to their rooms one after another. However, instead of turning in, Bradley pulled out his car keys and headed downstairs.

Bradley ran into Eddie, who was on his way back to his room. “Brad, are you going out?” he asked.

Bradley nodded. “Yeah, I’m heading back to Viremont.”

Eddie’s eye twitched. “Now? Do you really have to leave in such a hurry, Brad?”

Bradley replied, “Yeah, it’s urgent.” With that, he turned and walked away.
