“I don’t know,” Britney replied.

She really didn’t know.

His left leg was completely numb from kneeling for so long.

The message was from Cameron. [Gavin, did it work?]

Gavin replied: [She turned me down.]

Cameron: [See? The usual tricks just don’t work on her.],

Gavin: [Cam, I don’t want to lie to her anymore. Let’s just wait a bit longer.]

Gavin held his phone. Memories of seeing Britney in the hospital a few days ago replayed in his mind.

He knew she cared about him.

Gavin’s heart suddenly clenched, and he felt like he couldn’t breathe.

He wasn’t sure whether she was going to move out or leave him.

He had already been patient enough.

He had given her all the freedom she could possibly want.

‘What more am I supposed to do?‘ he thought, completely at a loss.

Britney saw the pained look on Gavin’s face, and her heart ached for him too.

However, it wasn’t proper for her to live there with Gavin in such an ambiguous situation.

It was time for her to go back to her own place.

Gavin didn’t say anything else. He just grabbed a bottle of red wine from the cabinet and poured himself a glass.

Stumbling, he collapsed onto the sofa.

The tie around his neck felt like it was choking him, so he yanked it off, leaving red marks on his neck.

When Britney came out to check, she found Gavin had already fallen asleep on the sofa.

The heavy scent of alcohol filled the air, making Britney wrinkle her nose in displeasure.
