“Jade, aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?” Leo asked.

Molly grinned. “Boss isn’t around, so I’m calling the shots today. A little playing hooky now and then, I think I’ve earned that.”

The two of them chatted, eyes fixed on the woman throwing punches up on stage. Molly nudged him. “Tell me, if Andre saw how fierce Mia gets, do you think he’d still be head over heels for her?”

Leo shot her a look. “You kidding? Andre’s already seen her go full beast mode.”

“When was that?” Molly raised an eyebrow.

Leo paused, then just made something up. “Remember when Andre was after me? Mia was already on stage, throwing punches. He saw the whole show.”

Molly nodded, satisfied. “Fair enough.” She turned back to the ring. “Seriously, there are so many things a girl could get into—why boxing?”

Leo grinned. “You sound just like my granddad.”

Molly snorted. “I’m channeling my dad, actually.”

The Cedillo family home.

Chad came back carrying his son, while Henry stood in his usual corner, hands behind his back, stuck in time-out.

Mr. Calder, cradling his own son, tried to play peacemaker. “Come on, Andre, that’s enough. Don’t take it out on Henry. With these three, who knows who did what?”

“Andre, Molly isn’t home yet?” he asked.

Andre shook his head. His own wife was still missing in action, too.

Just then Anya burst in from school. “Hey, babies! Big sis is home, and I brought you all some treats!”

Ash wriggled out of his dad’s arms and ran for a hug. Wayne cocked his head, searching for Anya. Henry glanced at his dad, caught the glare, and stayed put in his corner. The security footage had already spilled the beans—it was Henry who’d broken Grandpa’s favorite vase.

At eight, the two women finally made it back. Anya got ready to head out again.

Leo dropped off both women, then swung by to pick up his own.

Andre was on edge too. That night, he dreamed about Mia finding out he’d been to The Silent Ring—and busting him for his own secrets. He jolted awake, only to find Mia curled up against him, her leg thrown over his. After her training, she was out cold.

Andre held his wife close, already nervous about the upcoming tournament…

Next morning, Cedillo family breakfast table.

Before heading out, Andre looked at Mia. “Hey, want to come hang out at the office with me today?”

Mia grinned over her breakfast. “I’ve heard of people taking their kids to work, but wives? If you’re that bored, take all three of them.”

Mr. Calder had been dropping by Cedillo Group more often lately. With his son causing less trouble, he was finally getting some peace—and even had time to chat with his wife for half an hour every night.

Andre tried again. “Well, what about helping me with—”

“Babe, I’m going shopping today,” Mia cut him off, already plotting her day.
