Sebastiana grunts.
“Protect your ribs, Sebi,” Christian says to her.
She nods and gets back into position. I do the same and when the match is started again, Sebastiana comes at me, but not as hard this time. I pull on years of training to keep up with her, but I have to admit, she’s an incredible fighter. A have an extra year of training that Shane doesn’t have because I’m older than he is and she’s still forcing me to use every bit of training I’ve ever learned to stay on my feet. She would have taken Shane down by now.
She gets in her share of hits and kicks, but I do a pretty good job of keeping up with her with Alpha Sebastian’s help. He helps me to see weaknesses where I didn’t see them before and helps me to see how I can block punches that she’s getting past me.
When Christian calls the end of sparring, it’s the best sparring match I think I’ve ever had.
“Damn girl. If you decide to go to the Academy, it might be your name I’m knocking off the number one position on the leaderboard,” Sebastiana says, coming over to hug me after we’re done. “That was damn good fighting.”
“Yes, it was. Better than I what I’ve seen from you,” Christian says.
“Perhaps she just needed the right coach,” Alpha Sebastian says, making both Christian and Sebastiana groan and roll their eyes.
“Let’s eat. I’m starved,” Sebastiana says, linking her arm with Shane’s.

“And tomorrow, you’re mind, hottie.”
“That was really impressive,” he says.
“I’m not just a pretty face,” she says, grinning at him.
“And that’s just one thing that the Academy can do for you, Enya. I’m not trying to pressure you in any way but having been an assistant and then an instructor for many years, I’ve seen what the Academy can do for young Alphas. Sebastian is an incredible instructor. He was one of my instructors when I took the classes at the Academy. He pushed me to be a stronger, better version of who I am. It’s just something to think about. You saw how much Sebastian helped you in one sparring session. Imagine what you could learn in six months,” Alpha Christina says as we walk inside.
She and Alpha Sebastian walk away together as I take a moment to make sure everything is set for breakfast.
I feel the heat of his body before he leans over from behind me and whispers in my ear.
“Do you want to tell me why I haven’t seen that level of skill from you in our sparring sessions, Enya?”
The sound of Christian’s voice in my ear sends shivers through my body and my lips light up with tingles as I remember his mouth on mine last night.
How do I tell him that I’m so distracted by him that I can’t concentrate on sparring when I’m with him?
