“You missed dinner, Christian,” Enya says walking in with a tray of food.

I turn and look at the windows. I hadn’t realized that the afternoon and part of the evening had gone by.

“Did Sebastiana and Shane return?” I ask.

“They apparently snuck in the back. I guess Shane shredded his clothes when he shifted and Sebastiana was so worried about him, she did as well. I sent some food up to their rooms.”

“What about my parents?” I ask already knowing the answer. If they had emerged from their room, they would haye come to make sure everything was okay.

“I haven’t seen them.”

“Did you eat?” I ask, noticing that there is only one plate.

“I wasn’t sure if you needed some alone time. I can leave if you have work to do to get ready for tomorrow,” she says.

“Have the omegas bring another plate of food, Enya. We can talk through the next couple of days while we eat,” I tell her as I stand,

“What happened?” my mother asks.

“The Council called. They’ll be here in the morning. Apparently, Alpha Colin’s medical records were concerning enough that several council members are coming tomorrow. And Shane and I learned that Alpha Colin murdered, purposefully poisoned with silver while he was in the hospital. Nurse Nancy told us everything. She doesn’t know who else is involved, but Dorian promised her the Luna position if she helped him.”
