Rebel POV.
I stayed for a while with my family; we laughed and joked like how it should have been. I can’t keep living in the past if I want to move forward. After a while, RJ began to feel pain and so he had his pain meds and fell asleep. I told mom and dad to go home, that I had put one of the girls at the door. Mom didn’t want to leave her baby boy, but we convinced her that he will be safe. Which he will be. I trust my girls. They will deal with any threat that may come his way.
I rode back to Dante’s penthouse and walked inside. I rubbed the back of my neck as exhaustion took over. The penthouse is quiet, too quiet. Something doesn’t feel right.
I reach for my gun and draw it out; I walk silently through the dark penthouse, my head on the swivel. I check every room and even the windows and doors. I head towards the bedroom and open the door. I smile, seeing both Dante and Dylan asleep sitting up in the bed with the TV on.
I holster my gun and begin to strip down. I will get a shower in the morning. Right now, I need to sleep. All this bullshit drama with Luna has wiped me out. I climb up onto the bed in between them both. I snuggle down as arms wrap around me. I sigh contently as my eyes close.
I wake up to a noise coming from the hallway. I look around and see Dante and Dylan are both still sleeping. I climb out of bed and listen. I hear another creak. Someone is here. I grab the gun again and look around the corner, but nothing. I make my way down the hall. Raise the gun.
“Jesus fuck, Rebel.” I just smile as I turn the safety back on the gun and stand there looking at her.
“Mind telling me what you are doing creeping around here, Alessa?” I ask her when Ivar walks out from the kitchen with two mugs.
“Rebel, it’s always so nice to see you. But could you possibly please put some damn clothes on?” I look down and realise I’m in my panties and bra.
“Thought you would be used to it by now.” I say with a chuckle as Ivar looks everywhere but at me.
“Rebel, may I remind you he is my husband, go and get dressed and I suggest you wake up those two. Jesus, how do you sleep next to them? It sounded like you were sleeping with tractors.” Alessa says with a chuckle while bringing her mug to her lips. I mock salute her.
“Yes, mom.” I turn and walk away as she laughs. I enter the bedroom and throw on a shirt and Dante’s sweatpants. I walk to the bed and shake Dylan.
“Wake up, we have got company.” I say to him and I do the same with Dante. They both look at me and blink before they rub their eyes.
“What time is it, and who is it?” I grab the phone from the bedside and press the power button.
“Six am and Alessa and Ivar.” I say and they both get out of bed. Dylan kisses me, and Dante does the same.
“How’s RJ?” Dylan asks and I smile.
“He will live. We had a good talk last night. He told me some things that I’m not happy about, but I will debrief everyone soon. Come on. Alessa and Ivar are both waiting.” I say as I walk out of the room and make my way back down the corridor to the living room to find three more mugs. I look at Ivar and he nods, giving me a wink.
