When the topic of marriage came up, Miles finally nodded in agreement.

More than anyone, he wanted to clear his schedule, marry Felicity, and then finally have peace of mind. After all these years, Calvin still hadn’t tied the knot and seemed to be eyeing Felicity like a hawk.

However, Felicity insisted on a honeymoon that involved traveling around the world. This meant Miles needed plenty of time, so he had to wrap up his work quickly.

They finally arrived at the hospital, and Miles parked the car and walked around to open the door for her.

Felicity had gotten used to being pampered. If no one opened the door for her, she’d just sit and wait.

“Still feeling sick?” he asked.

She shook her head. “Nah, I’m fine. I didn’t feel that bad. You’re the one who insisted on getting me checked out.”

Miles smirked, “Stubborn, aren’t you? Give me your hand.”

He held her hand as they got out and didn’t let go.

Once inside the hospital, their private doctor was already waiting in the VIP consultation room, greeting them with a warm smile.

“Give her a check-up, please. She’s had some nausea this morning and doesn’t look too well,” Miles said.

The doctor nodded, jotting down notes. “Have you eaten anything spicy or irritating lately?”

Felicity thought for a moment. “Nope, just had a couple of coffees.”

“Then…” The doctor looked up, asking seriously, “Are you married?”

Married? The question caught Felicity off guard. Though she wasn’t sure why it was relevant, she shook her head. “No, not married.”

She pressed her lips together, looking down.

“Langston, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could have a child? Boy or girl, it doesn’t matter. Just one, and I’d cherish them every single day.”

“I already cherish you every single day, with or without a child. Don’t dwell on it, okay?”

Felicity struggled to control her emotions. She hated dwelling on these thoughts because it affected Miles too.

But sometimes, emotions are the hardest things to control. The more you try to push them away, the more they linger.

“Langston, maybe you should—”

“Don’t even finish that sentence,” Miles interrupted. “You know it’s not possible.”
