Stella could feel the heat rising through her body, her temperature climbing with every passing second.

Shawn watched her, transfixed by the way she looked—vulnerable, alluring, almost impossibly beautiful. He swallowed hard, unable to tear his eyes away. With a woman like this, even without any deal or exchange, just one night would be worth it.

He flexed his hands, anticipation gleaming in his eyes as he moved closer to Stella.

He’d already taken the antidote earlier, but right now, excitement buzzed through his veins, even more potent than any drug.

He waved his secretary away. “You can go now.”

He had no interest in an audience.

The secretary finished setting up the camera, then hurried out of the room. As she closed the door behind her, she heard a heavy thud from inside.

They must have started already.

Stella had been drugged and was now at Shawn’s mercy. Things didn’t look good for her. Foreman Richards kept a close eye on the room, watching for any sign of trouble.

He saw Jonathan leave first, then a woman he didn’t recognize. Foreman frowned. What was Star doing in there?

He’d arrived late and didn’t know what had just happened, nor that Stella had been caught in a trap. Still, seeing Jonathan and a stranger exit one after another left him uneasy.

He walked up to the door and knocked softly.

“Star, are you in there?”

No reply.

The room was soundproof—nothing but silence came from within.

Foreman pressed the doorbell.

Ding-dong!

It rang for ages, but no sound came from inside.
