Chapter 1001

Halsey told Gilbert that she loved Shaun.

Gilbert was fuming. How dare she lie to him and provoke him!

He grabbed Halsey by the neck and tightened his grip. “Are you really not afraid to die?”

Halsey’s face turned an even deeper shade of red. “I am afraid! I can’t bear to leave the baby inside me, and I can’t leave Shaun. But more than death, I can’t stand the thought of being with someone like you. You disgust me!”

Gilbert snapped, “I’m gonna-

Just then, the warehouse door swung open, and someone rushed in

“Gilbert!”

It was Chelsea.

Gilbert released Halsey’s throat, and a rush of fresh air filled her lungs. She coughed twice, struggling to breathe.

He turned to Chelsea. “What the hell are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with Shaun and Warren?”

Chelsea looked serious. “Warren’s starting to suspect me.”

Gilbert’s expression changed. “What are you talking about? Hasn the always trusted you? He’s never doubted you before.”

“I don’t know what happened. Something just feels off. He’s acting really strange,” she said, frowning. “I have a bad feeling about this. We need to get rid of Halsey now. Keeping her around is only gonna bring trouble.”

Halsey let out a cold laugh and looked straight at Chelsea.

“Shaun and Warren trusted you. They never suspected a thing. But here you are, scheming behind their backs with Gilbert. How could you do that to them?”

“That’s enough! Who are you to judge me? This is all your fault! Shaun and I were supposed to be together. He was mine! I was supposed to be Mrs. Lane. But then you showed up and ruined everything. You stole Shaun from me, and I hate you for that! I want you gone!”

Halsey suddenly laughed again.

Chelsea froze. “What the hell are you laughing at?”

“I’m laughing at how selfish, greedy, and fake you are,” Halsey said calmly. “Shaun and I met first. We fell in love first. Don’t you know that? And even after learning about Gilbert’s schemes, you still threw yourself into this mess, trying to take what was never yours to begin with. Shaun never belonged to you.”

“You’re lying!” Chelsea shouted. “You’re the one who took him from me!”

“Shaun never loved you. It’s all in your head. This whole thing is just your fantasy. He never felt the same!”

“You’re wrong!” Chelsea screamed. “Shaun does love me! And once you’re gone, he’ll finally be mine!”

Her voice cracked as she spiraled into madness.

Gilbert stepped in. “Enough with the nonsense already.”

Chelsea clenched her fists. “Gilbert, this woman refuses to see reason. It’s time to end this. And do it fast. Something’s wrong tonight–both Warren and Shaun are acting weird. We can’t let them find this place!”

This was their one shot. They couldn’t afford to waste it.

Tonight was the night Halsey had to die.
