Chapter 901

Halsey had been standing by the door, but the moment Shaun’s tall frame approached, his shadow instantly fell over her. She instinctively backed away, but she misjudged her step and nearly hit the wall.

Shaun reached out and caught her by the waist, his hand easily wrapping around her. With a gentle tug, he pulled her straight into his arms.

Their bodies suddenly pressed close.

Halsey’s lashes fluttered. “Mr. Lane…”

Shaun looked down at her. “What’s got you all flustered? Just because you’re asking for my Instagram handle?”

Right then and there, Halsey regretted ever agreeing to Geneva’s request-this was definitely a mistake!

“If you don’t want to, you don’t have to give it to me—”

Before she could finish, Shaun gave her a firm pull, and she stumbled into his chest. His fresh, clean scent surrounded her instantly.

Halsey quickly lifted her hands and pressed them against his chest. “Mr. Lane…”

Shaun glanced at her hands. “Where do you think you’re touching?”

Halsey froze. She wasn’t trying to touch him.

But under her palms, she could clearly feel his hard, defined chest muscles-tight and solid. She wondered if he had been working out again.

Flustered, she quickly pulled her hands back. “Sorry.”

Shaun raised an eyebrow at her awkwardness. “You still want my Instagram handle?”

“I’m not-“I

She meant to say she wasn’t the one who wanted it, but Geneva.

But before she could get the words out, Shaun said, “Sure.”

Was he really giving it to her?

Honestly, Halsey thought he would say no. He always seemed cold and distant, and besides, wasn’t he with Chelsea now? Why would he hand out his Instagram to another girl?

“My Instagram handle hasn’t changed. It’s my name.”

“Okay.” Halsey nodded. “You can let go of me now.”

But Shaun didn’t move. He was still holding her.

Just then, a voice called out. “Halsey? Halsey?”

It was Madeline. She was looking for her.

Halsey tensed. “Mr. Lane, what are you doing? Maddy’s looking for me. If she sees us like this, she might misunderstand. Please let go!”

She tried to push him away.

Their bodies were already pressed together, and as she struggled, the friction through their thin clothes sparked something electric.

Shaun gulped. “Don’t move.”

Halsey froze. She immediately sensed the change in his body.

Is he…

With a sharp push, she shoved him away and bolted out of the room.

Madeline was just coming around the corner. “Halsey, why’s your face so red?”

Halsey touched her cheeks, flustered. “It’s nothing. I guess I got a little hot just now.’

Madeline looked confused. “Hot? It’s not even warm today.”

Halsey didn’t respond.

Geneva quickly found her. “Halsey, did you get his Instagram handle?”

Halsey handed her a small note with Shaun’s name on it. “Here you go.”

Geneva’s eyes lit up. “Wow! Thanks! I’m following him right now!”

She pulled out her phone and eagerly sent a follow request to Shaun’s Instagram account. Now, she just had to wait for him to approve it.

Halsey glanced at Geneva’s screen. Would Shaun accept?

Meanwhile, Shaun was standing in the kitchen. His body still felt hot and restless-the feeling of holding Halsey hadn’t faded.

He walked over to the window and opened it, letting the cool breeze from outside wash over

him.

He needed to cool off.
