Shaun froze. “How did you know I was here tonight? Who told you?”

The sharp look on his handsome face was already clouded with displeasure. The pressure his tone made Geneva instinctively nervous.

She forced a smile. “What do you mean? Didn’t we agree to meet here for dinner?”

“Shaun!”

Chelsea and Warren had just arrived.

Warren looked at Geneva and frowned. “Shaun, who is this? Where’s Ms. Mallin? Isn’t she the one you were meeting?”

“It’s already six,” Chelsea added. “Did Ms. Mallin stand you up again?”

“She wouldn’t,” Shaun cut in flatly.

“Then where is she?” Warren pressed. “And who the hell is this girl?”

Geneva was starting to panic. Something felt off. Wasn’t this supposed to be their date? Why was Shaun acting like he didn’t know her at all?

The little fantasy she had built in her mind had already begun to crumble.

Shaun’s cold gaze locked onto Geneva’s face. “Who exactly are you? Security!”

Several bodyguards in black rushed over. “Mr. Lane.”

“Get her out of here!” Shaun ordered.

Two of them immediately restrained Geneva, one on each side.

Her face went pale. “What are you doing? We agreed to meet here tonight-why are you having them drag me away?”

Shaun’s jaw tightened. “Who said I agreed to meet you?”

He was confident the person he was here to see was Halsey.

Geneva looked confused. “We chatted on Instagram!”

“Instagram?” Shaun’s tone turned razor-sharp.

Geneva nodded quickly. “Yes! Check it if you don’t believe me. Look at our messages!”

She broke free of the security staff for a moment and pulled out her phone. Opening their chat history, she held it out to Shaun. “See for yourself.”

Shaun glanced at the screen, and his entire expression changed.

“You’re ‘cute_potato’?” he asked, stunned.

“Yes,” Geneva said, smiling. “That’s my username.”

Shaun stepped back, disbelief etched into every line of his face. “H-How can that be? Halsey was the one who asked me for my Instagram yesterday!”

Geneva blinked. “Yes! I asked Halsey to get it for me.”

Everything clicked for Shaun in an instant. The person he had been chatting with this whole

time…was Geneva.

That cute, bubbly username he found so charming now made his stomach turn.

He had actually mistaken “cute_potato” for Halsey!

Geneva still didn’t realize what she had done. “Mr. Lane, what’s wrong? I thought we were going on a date.”

Shaun’s hands clenched into tight fists at his sides, his knuckles turning pale from the pressure. His voice was low and full of disgust. “Who said anything about going on a date with you?”
