Chapter 911

Halsey’s lashes trembled. What was that supposed to mean? Whether he came back tonight

or not wasn’t something she had any control over.

Raindrops slid from Shaun’s sharp jawline, dripping down one after another.

Halsey, worried he might catch a cold, quickly said, “You’re soaked. I’ll grab you a towel.”

She walked into the bathroom and returned with a towel, handing it to him. “Here, dry off.

Take a shower too. I don’t want you getting sick.”

Shaun tossed the towel onto the carpet without a second thought. “Why are you pretending to care now? Are you planning to mess with me again?”

Halsey looked at the towel on the floor, stunned. “What’s your problem? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed today? Or are you just in a bad mood because your sweet little date didn’t go so well?”

With that, she turned to walk away.

But Shaun grabbed her arm, holding her in place.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” she protested, struggling.

Shaun let out a cold laugh. “So you do know I went out with someone else. I bet you were hoping I had the time of my life-maybe even ended the night in a hotel room. That would’ve suited you just fine, huh?”

Halsey couldn’t make sense of his outburst.

What was he talking about? Why was he throwing shade at her after going on a date with someone else? Was she just an easy target for him?

Her clear eyes locked onto his angry face. “If you’ve got something to say, say it. If not, then

leave!”

Shaun yanked her closer. “Did Geneva ask you to get my Instagram?”

Halsey didn’t want to bring it up, but since he asked, she answered honestly. “Yes. She asked me to. I didn’t expect you to give it to me. But you did-you followed her account and took her out. Does your girlfriend know about that?”

Shaun narrowed his eyes. “My girlfriend? Who exactly are you talking about?”

“Chelsea,” Halsey replied. “Isn’t she your girlfriend?”

That seemed to set Shaun off. “Just how many women do you want to push me toward? Chelsea, Geneva-what do you think I am, some kind of player? Want me to juggle two at once? Maybe one in the morning, one at night?”

“I wouldn’t know how,” she replied flatly.

Shaun scoffed. “Oh, I think you’d be pretty good at it! Two-timing, three-timing-it’s your specialty, isn’t it?”

Halsey was stunned. “When have I ever dated more than one person at once?”

“Gilbert. Calvin. Me,” Shaun snapped. “Which one of us hasn’t been wrapped around your little finger?”

Halsey was speechless. That wasn’t true.

She hadn’t done anything with anyone except Shaun. She had kept her distance from the

others.

Her patience finally snapped. She had been thinking about him all day, while he was out dating someone else. And now he came back, looking to take it out on her?

Halsey yelled, “However many people I’m supposedly involved with, I can promise you you’re not one of them. What I do is none of your business!”

She tried to pull away.

“Let me go! Don’t touch me!”

But Shaun’s eyes were already flashing with danger. Whatever restraint he had been holding onto finally snapped. All he could see was her face, her lips moving, provoking him

with every word.

And in that moment, his only thought was to shut her up.

Shaun leaned in and kissed her.
