Chapter 988

Shaun gave Halsey’s cheek a gentle pinch. “Hurry up and eat. I’m taking you somewhere after this.”

Halsey raised an eyebrow, curious. “Where to?”

Shaun grinned mysteriously. “Can’t tell you yet. You’ll see when we get there.”

“So secretive, huh?” Halsey muttered.

After breakfast, Shaun took Halsey out. About half an hour later, they pulled up at a mall.

Halsey blinked. “You brought me to the mall?”

Shaun led her straight into a jewelry boutique. “You told me yesterday that I’ve never bought you any jewelry. Well, today’s your day. Pick whatever you want-I’m paying.”

Halsey arched her brows playfully. “Wow, you’re being so generous today. Guess I won’t hold back.”

“Don’t,” Shaun replied with a smirk.

A sales assistant came over, full of energy. “Good morning! Looking for anything in particular?”

Halsey pointed toward a bracelet. “That one.”

“Of course. I’ll take it out for you to try on.”

Leaning closer to Shaun, Halsey whispered, “That emerald bracelet looks like it’s top-grade. Probably costs millions. You sure you won’t regret it?”

Shaun’s eyes lit up as he looked at her playful gaze. “If you like it, I’d be willing to spend every last dime I have.”

Halsey couldn’t help but smile.

The sales assistant brought over the bracelet. The emerald gleamed against Halsey’s wrist, highlighting how slender and fair her hands were. It looked stunning on her.

“I’ll take it,” Halsey said.

Shaun handed over his black card. “Charge it.”

Halsey laughed. “You’re so attractive when you pay for stuff.”

Shaun grinned. “Then give me more chances to impress you. Let’s keep shopping.”

As she glanced toward a display case, something sparkly caught her eye-a diamond ring.

Just then, Shaun’s voice cut in. “Bring me the biggest diamond ring you have.”

“Yes, sir,” the assistant replied.

Halsey’s heart skipped. “You’re buying a diamond ring?”

“Yep,” he said casually.

Why would he need a diamond ring? Who was it for?

Halsey’s heartbeat quickened.

The assistant returned with a ring. “Here you go, sir.”

Shaun took the ring in one hand and gently held Halsey’s hand with the other. “Try it on.”

“Why are you buying me a diamond ring?” she asked softly.

Shaun raised an eyebrow. “What do you think?”

She didn’t answer. How was she supposed to know if he wouldn’t say it?

The enormous diamond slid onto her ring finger.

“It’s a perfect fit,” the assistant said with a smile.
