Halsey had hung up on purpose.

As long as she didn’t take the bait, Gilbert and Chelsea would only get more desperate. Sooner or later, they would start to panic and do something reckless.

Warren looked at her. “Why are you asking about that?”

Chelsea leaned in slightly. “Since Halsey won’t come out, that leaves only one option. You need to sneak me into the villa so I can talk to her. Also, you’ll have to call Shaun and find a way to get him out of the house. That’s the only way I’ll get to speak to Halsey alone.”

Warren frowned. “Why are you so eager to see her, anyway? What are you planning to do?”

Chelsea froze. That was the first time Warren had asked her that.

She had a bad feeling. It sounded like he was starting to doubt her.

Chelsea couldn’t afford that. She still needed Warren because he was her best weapon. If she lost his trust now, she would have nothing left.

“Why would you ask me that? I just want to talk to Halsey and convince her to leave Shaun. Did she say something bad about me? Is that why you’re starting to suspect me now?” she said.

“She did mention a few things,” Warren replied. “Last time, when you asked me to get her to that restaurant, what exactly did you do to her?”

Chelsea’s heart skipped a beat. “I’ll be honest with you, Warren. I drugged her and took her to a surgical room-I was trying to make her lose the baby.”

Warren’s face changed instantly, and he jumped to his feet. “How could you do something like that?!”

Chelsea had expected that reaction, but she had to come clean. If she didn’t, Halsey would tell him everything anyway-and by then, it’d be too late. She had to stay one step ahead.

“I admit it was a desperate move,” she said hurriedly, “but Halsey can’t keep that baby!”

“Are you out of your mind? That baby is Shaun’s! Even if we don’t like Halsey, we can’t go after an innocent child! That’s a human being! If Shaun finds out, he won’t forgive us!” Warren yelled, indignant.

Chelsea stood up and grabbed his arm.

“Because of that baby, Halsey has Shaun wrapped around her finger. You’ve seen it yourself-Shaun even proposed to her! Are
